1 Tim. 2:1-7 address the topic of "Gospel-Driven Prayer."

In vv. 1-2a we discuss 1) The command to pray.

1 Timothy 1:18-20 tells us of The Importance of the True Gospel.

In v. 18 we learned 1) The Gospel has been entrusted to Us.

Then, in v. 19a we saw that 2) The Gospel is Valuable.

Finally, in vv. 19b-20 we learn that 3) There is Danger in Rejecting the Gospel.

1 Timothy 1:18-20 tells us of The Importance of the True Gospel.

In v. 18 we learn 1) The Gospel has been entrusted to Us.

Now, in v. 19a we see that 2) The Gospel is Valuable.

In v. 18 we learn 1) The Gospel has been entrusted to Us.

In 1 Timothy 1:15 we saw that 1) The Gospel Purpose can be distilled into one saying.

Then, in 1:16 we learned that 2) The Gospel Purpose points to the Savior, not to man.

Now, in 1:17 we see that 3) The Gospel Purpose gives glory alone to God.

Now, in 1:16 we learn that 2) The Gospel Purpose points to the Savior, not to man.

There are two sub-points to this:

a) A proper understanding of the Gospel begins with mercy; and

b) A proper understanding of the Gospel recognizes the true actor.

Today, when we look at 1 Timothy 1:15 we can ask the question "Why Does God Save?" This verse shows us the purpose of the Gospel, which can be examined in three different aspects:

1) The Reliability of the Gospel saying.

2) The Content of the Gospel Saying.

3) The Personal Appropriation of the Gospel saying.

In 1 Timothy 1:12-14 we see A Picture of Radical Transformation. Here, we see how the Gospel connects to false teaching in that properly understood, it changes lives. These verses teach us the power of the Gospel.

In v. 12 we saw that 1) The Power for True Gospel Ministry Comes from God. 

Now in v. 13 we learn that 2) The Power of God is displayed in Mercy.

Finally, in v. 14 we see that 3) The Power of God is gifted by Grace.

1 Timothy 1:8-11 addresses the Scope of the Law. This is important because the aforementioned false teachers were make bold assertions about the Law and were found to be mishandling it. However, does their negligence of the Law mean that it is bad or doesn't have a use? To use Paul's words: "By no means!" The Law, properly understood and applied is good and that's what we address today.

In v. 8 we discussed 1) The Nature of the Law.

Then, in vv. 9-10 we looked at 2) The Recipients of the Law.

Finally, in v. 11 wee see 3) The Purpose of the Law.
