In Acts 16:1-5 we noticed the following to be introduced to 1 Timothy.

Now, as we continue in Acts 16:6-12 and following (all the way through Acts 20) we notice two other aspects that help introduce us to the letter:

We look to Acts 16:1-5 to be introduced to Timothy and to discover the context of this letter.

We consider

1) The Geography (v. 1a)

In vv. 49:29-50:14 we learned that 1) The death of a believer provides a last opportunity to demonstrate faith in God.

In vv. 15-21 we learned that 2) Major life changes provide a unique testing ground for faith to be proved.

Finally, in vv. 22-26 we see that 3) The death of a believer who is still waiting for the promise provides a last opportunity to demonstrate faith.

In vv. 49:29-50:14 we learned that 1) The death of a believer provides a last opportunity to demonstrate faith in God.

Now, in vv. 15-21 we are learning that 2) Major life changes provide a unique testing ground for faith to be proved.

In vv. 15-17a we saw that a) Past sin may provide a temptation to manipulate the situation.

Now, in vv. 17b-21 we see that b) Mature faith is strengthened even when faced with the opportunity to sin.

In vv. 49:29-50:14 we learned that 1) The death of a believer provides a last opportunity to demonstrate faith in God.

Now, in vv. 15-21 we learn that 2) Major life changes provide a unique testing ground for faith to be proved.
