Looking at the armor of God, we see how each piece is specific to our calling as Christ's soldiers for the gospel. God gives us both protective armor against attack and a power offensive weapon.

Each of us a soldier in the battle of good vs. evil. God has given us all that we need to be victorious, but it is upon us to take up our armor daily and stand firm in the faith.

Spiritual warfare is real. We see evidence of this throughout Scripture from Genesis 3 through Revelation. We must remember that the battle is only won by standing strong in the Lord through prayer, study of Scripture, and remaining vigilant against deception.

All work we do should be done with the same vigor and good attitude we would have as if the Lord Himself were asking us to do it, and it should not be done only to gain favor with others, but sincerely from within our heart.

If God disciplines - even scourges - us when we go astray, so too should a good father discipline his children, but never unjustly. God created fathers to lead, guide, and instill in their children in the ways of the Lord.

We can now see more into a great mystery that existed since the creation of the first man and woman, and in what way marriage is a sacred foreshadow of how we are Christ's bride in His coming kingdom.

The command for wives to be subject to their husband pairs perfectly with the command for husbands to love their wives. In this scenario a pure family union is sustained.

The beloved apostle tells us we must be filled with the Holy Spirit and speak to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. What better way to lift the spirits of a fellow believer than to quote scripture, to share a beautiful hymn, or sing a Christ-centered worship song together?

The enemy of our souls uses pride to keep people from Christ. Pride ruins lives, families, companies, and ministries.

Spending too much effort on anything that yields only worldly results or pleasures is a poor use of the time God has given us.
