What is up EOE Community!
On this episode, we speak with the legends of the dessert food truck game out on Eastern Long Island, NY, Syndey and Sam. This is a special two in one episode! We interviewed them twice to put this colab episode together for you all.
For Goodness Cakes is literally killing the dessert game out here on Long Island. From Rainbow Cake Pops to Churro Tots...yes we said Churro Tots! But what is even cooler than those two gangster desserts is the fact that Sydney and Sam, the dynamic duo, are actually sisters!
What started as a hobby for one, turned into an amazing business venture for the two of them.
Their mission is : "We aim to not only exceed our guest's expectations, but to have them leave happier than they came. Always keeping our menu fresh, and our sweets fresher. We will "bake the world a better place" by operating as eco friendly as possible, and giving back to our community at the same time.
So saddle up, get ready, pick up some stuff form the AMAZING For Goodness Cakes truck and LET'S ROLL!

Nicole and Darrien, long time contributors, bring you the first ever EOE take over. Nicole shares about the body blows of illness she has endured, and how that has helped her Overcome shame, rediscover her identity and find the joy in painful seasons.
Nicole talks about learning to be a wife and a businesswoman with a chronic illness. She is joined by another woman warrior, Meg.
Meg is a cancer survivor, who suffers from a spinal pressure disease and endometriosis. Though she refuses to be defined by her health.
Meg is also a mother of two and a budding visual artist. She found power in her journey at a Raw Story Slam, and now hopes to support others on their journey to wellness by sharing her story of pain and peace.

"You will hit obstacles along the way. Sometimes the mountain will seem too high to climb. You will want to give up and say “It’s just too hard.” In those moments, I will knock some sense into you and remind you that you have a responsibility to your vision. You must run towards your fear because the thing you came here for is waiting for you right on the other side of it. I will not let you off the hook. Tough love, my friend. You deserve it.
If you are a thought leader, I can help you to identify exactly what you have to say, to express it with clarity, and to deliver your message from any public platform with integrity and heart.
If you are a theatre maker, I can help you to refine your technique, to finesse your interpretive skills, and to go after your career with business smarts and humanity.
If you are an entrepreneur, I can help you to build the character of your enterprise, to focus in on the human problem you are trying to solve, and to communicate your solutions to those you are seeking to help.
If you are a leader in the business world, I can help you to create a company culture you can be proud of, to work more effectively with your team, and to express your Why to your clients and customers so that you can truly show up in service of them."

For this week’s episode, we got to spend some time with Jesse Barnett, a professional writer whose day job is helping people bring their message and their books to life. He’s the perfect guest to end our Overcoming series because he just released his own book called Soulcrushers: How to Release the Burdens You Were Never Meant to Carry.
We spent close to an hour talking about what it’s like to be a professional writer, how his blue-collar background paved the way for the work he’s doing now, why he can’t talk about some of the projects he’s been a part of, how to overcome impostor syndrome, the challenge of writing for others and capturing their voice, where to find inspiration, how many Disney World visits are too many Disney World visits, and how to overcome soul-crushing burdens like fear, doubt, anger, and hopelessness.
Even though the topics are heavy, the conversation is light and with Soulcrushers, Jesse has created a powerful, practical, and much-needed resource to help you overcome your burdens and live your own life with extraordinary excellence.
You can grab a copy of Soulcrushers: How to Release the Burdens You Were Never Meant to Carry here.
