Doug shared his journey from starting with trapping to becoming an accomplished coyote hunter, discussing his evolution from red lights to night vision and thermal equipment, and his current setup using a 6.5 PRC rifle. He detailed his hunting tactics, including wind direction strategies, call volume preferences (running all sounds at 28 volume), and average 25-minute set durations. Doug also discussed his successful mountain lion hunt in Idaho in 2019, his bobcat hunting experience with dogs in the UP, and his completion of a turkey world slam including a hunt in Mexico for oscillated turkeys.
