We have covered hunting various game animals with dogs, and lots of other methods, but this week, we learn about something that we haven heard of before, but have never gotten 1st hand info on.

This week Josh and Kevin Welcome David Lanting to the show.

David has 18 years experience hunting with Hawks.

We start off talking about his hunting background, growing up, then move on into information on using birds of prey to hunt.

David tells us about the paperwork involved, the process of getting a bird, what to look for in a bird, the process of "bonding" with the bird to get it to trust you and hunt with you.

We discuss how hunting with them works, the challenges and concerns, season vs. non- hunting season activities during different times of year and care of the birds through all of that.

David tells us about birds and their personalities, different types of birds used for hunting, and the game they are used for.

He then tells us about using a dog in conjunction with the birds.

Overall a very educational episode if you ever wanted to learn more about hunting with birds of prey.
