The Dr. Sultan Al-Qasimi Centre has chosen, as part of the "Prize Story" project, to highlight a unique piece from the collection of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The "Mother of the Emirates Medal" was selected, which was awarded to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammed Al Qasimi on November 25, 2019.

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan bestowed the "Mother of the Emirates Medal" upon His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammed Al Qasimi, on the occasion of his selection as a supportive figure for societal issues by the "Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Programme for Excellence and Social Intelligence" in its fifth edition.

Student, Amina Noura, who studies at the College of Economics and Administration at Al Qasimia University, won great praise for her voluntary efforts in raising awareness for diabetes, during her vacation in her home country in India.

Student, Amina Noura, is one of the graduates of the “Diabetes Ambassadors” programme, organised by Al Qasimia University in coordination with the Friends for Diabetes Society, one of the associations affiliated to the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah. Affiliated to the “Diabetes Ambassadors” programme, she received extensive workshops and training on the symptoms and causes of diabetes and methods of prevention. She graduated from the programme, to raise awareness of the preventive and health aspect, and to spread awareness among members of her community to prevent and reduce diabetes, within the framework of the programme plan.

Amina Noura intensified her efforts to raise health awareness for diabetes, through prevention or living with it to achieve psychological wellbeing and a happy life, by contributing to the campaign organised by the Alpha Palliative care Mala link Medical Centre-Organisation located in Kerala, India.

The United Arab Emirates concluded its second presidency of the United Nations Security Council with the adoption of seven resolutions, including a landmark resolution on Tolerance and International Peace and Security.

The resolution on tolerance, co-penned by the UAE and the United Kingdom and unanimously adopted on 14th June, recognised for the first time that hate speech, racism, and extremism can drive the outbreak, escalation, and recurrence of conflict. In total, the Council produced 14 agreed upon outcomes during the UAE’s presidency, including seven resolutions, five press statements, and two press elements.

During the second presidency of its 2022-2023 term on the Council, the UAE convened three signature events on its presidential priorities that brought the Council’s attention to vital issues relating to the maintenance of international peace and security. The meetings included the values of human fraternity in promoting and sustaining peace, chaired by Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of State; climate change, peace and security, chaired by Mariam Almheiri, Minister of Climate Change and the Environment; and cooperation between the UN and the League of Arab States, chaired by Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State.

The Sharjah Media Training Centre of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority is organising the 7th edition of the "Media Person of the Future" programme for the young, from July 10 to August 3.

The programme aims to train at least 50 students between the ages of 10 and 16.

In addition, the programme will be held in the central and eastern regions of Sharjah from July 17 to August 3, during which 25 students will take part in it.

Participants in this programme will benefit from intensive training courses in developing modern media skills, which will cover various topics, including speaking skills, radio casting, anchoring, photography and montage, and others.

The training programme is ideal for young people interested in the media to develop their skills and expand their knowledge during summer vacation.

Hussain Shaheen, Director of the Sharjah Media Training Centre, considered that the "Media Person of the Future" is an essential opportunity for the younger generations to develop their skills in media, noting that a stimulating and well-equipped educational environment will be provided to enable the participants to discover their inner creative abilities.

The Sharjah Finance Department (SFD) has partnered with "Tahseel" and MBME Group, the UAE’s largest payment aggregation platform, to launch a new online portal for registration and shipping services. This portal will be available to customers 24/7.

This comes as part of a continuous effort to expedite and streamline customer transactions, as well as its commitment to modernising service provision through intelligent systems.

The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has organised a "Knights of Humanity" event to honour the volunteers of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent in four Syrian provinces.

The ERC's move is part of Operation Gallant Knight 2, launched by the Joint Operations Command of the Ministry of Defence. It aimed to recognise the UAE's continuous humanitarian and relief efforts in alleviating the suffering of affected families following the earthquake that occurred on February 6.

The event was attended by Amer Ismail Hilal, Governor of Latakia; Mohammed Shamaa, Deputy Head of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent; and Mohammed Khamis Al Kaabi, Head of the Emirates Red Crescent delegation in Syria, and volunteers from both sides.

Governor Hilal emphasised that the humanitarian and relief work played a vital role in mitigating the physical and psychological damage caused by the catastrophe. He praised the medical institutions, rescue teams, and local and Arab relief organisations for their efforts in rescuing and assisting the wounded and victims.

Al Kaabi, in turn, stated that the event aimed to honour 200 volunteers from the Syrian Arab Red Crescent in four provinces: Latakia, Aleppo, Hama and Homs. These volunteers played a significant role during the aftermath and provided great support to the ERC in relief operations in Syria.

Al Qasimi Publications issued the latest historical publications of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, entitled: The Beginning of Bni Utbah Rule in Bahrain, which is a documented and verified study from contemporary sources of the beginning of the Bani Utbah Rule, in Bahrain in 1785 AD.
