We discussed a new product idea - Fairpool.

Fairpool is a smart contract that buys & sells its own token. It makes money on the spread between the buy & sell price. When it makes money, it distributes the profits between the current token holders.

Essentially, Fairpool is a combo: liquidity pool + token. It eliminates the need for a separate token.

Also, it prevents the rug pulls, because it only mints new tokens when someone buys them. Of course, the creator can buy the tokens before others, but this way he puts money into the pool. And he can’t get simply withdraw them - he has to sell the limited amount of tokens that he bought.

The most important feature of Fairpool is the profit distribution. Existing token holders have a right to future cash flows of the contract. The contract makes money on the spread between the buy & sell price, and the profit is distributed between the current holders. So it’s just like a regular company - except that its customers are speculators.

It’s possible to determine the general virality of the narrative by the form of its spread. Just like it’s possible to determine the R-value for a virus, it is possible to determine whether the narrative will continue spreading just by looking at the initial data: the relationship between the primary message & the secondary messages that are published as a result of people reading the primary message.

The logic is simple: most people buy based on fundamentals, but then they start looking at the chart more often. Thus, technical narratives become stronger. Thus, you should buy based on fundamentals but sell based on technicals.

Also, the fundamental narrative is already too widespread at the top - it can’t be used as a basis for making a decision. This, again, increases the power of the technical narrative.

Key points:

* A narrative is an assertion about future based on the current facts.

* The narrative must be believable (but not necessary true)

* The narrative must be simple (of two narrative, a simple but false narrative will be more viral)

* The narrative must be “cool” - the public display of your adherence to the narrative should improve your public image (this increases the probability of sharing).

We think this topic deserves more attention, so we’ll release more articles covering it.

We described the idea for The Bottom Dao. Here’s how it would work:

* Multiple people deposit their money into the same smart contract

* Each person receives the amount of votes proportional to the amount of money

* Each person can create a proposal to buy a specific token with specific parameters (when to buy, how much to buy, ...)

* Each person can vote on the proposal

* The proposal passes if a quorum is reached (e.g. 60% or 70%)

* If the proposal passes, then the smart contract automatically executes the buy order & distributes the bought tokens to the investors
