*Trigger Warning - there is talk about suicide in this episode.
Hi friends, this week's episode is a serious one but a very important one. With it being Men's Mental Health Awareness Month, I want to speak directly to the men in our lives for a moment. I share some eye-opening statistics and explore how societal expectations and stigmas around masculinity can have life-threatening consequences.
I also felt compelled to share a personal experience that deeply shaped my perspective on these issues. While I express strong emotions about how suicide impacts those left behind, I also want to honor the intense pain and mental illness that often lead to those thoughts. Depression is real, it can be overpowering, and it does not discriminate.
My intention with this episode isn’t to judge - it’s to open up a conversation that might help someone feel seen, supported, or just a little less alone.
If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health or thoughts of suicide, please know that help is available. You're not alone. In the U.S., you can call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline — it's free, confidential, and available 24/7.
