It’s no wonder why healing is such a controversial topic. Healing is His very nature — He is the healer. Not just what He does, but Who He is. The enemy would love to distort the nature of God whenever possible and we cannot allow this to happen.
Furthermore, a powerless church is not the fullness of what Christ paved the way for. Jesus healed. That reality should be enough for us to understand and desire to operate in this gift consistently. People are sick and hurting all around and they need to be healed on every level. An equipped Body of Christ operating in faith, carrying His love and power is the answer to a hurting world.
Celebrating 1 year as Lead Pastor — Pastor Josiah expounds on the incredible story of the Roman Centurions jaw dropping understanding of authority and faith. There’s much to uncover in this paramount portion of Scripture. It’s one of the few places in all the Bible where Jesus was truly WOW’d! The connection between authority & faith is vital for the Believer to know. When the Roman officer came, he essentially brought a new wineskin to receive what the Lord was pouring out. Things changed when he came to Jesus. He didn’t just wait around for the blessing to show up on his doorstep, he went and got what he was believing for and Jesus met him in that place of great faith.
It can be difficult to understand what is an active gift of faith and what is simply faith in action. Pastor Josiah covers 3 different kinds of faith and uses Biblical and personal examples of them. The bottom line is to constantly be growing in our faith. Expanding our capacity to believe and trust God in all areas of our lives. The more we strengthen our faith muscle, the more mountains we’ll see moved in our lifetime. This is the first “power gift” we’ve covered in this series thus far with much more to come. Especially considering how the gift of faith works in conjunction with other gifts so well.
Pastor Josiah finishes up his teaching on the most famous sermon ever preached — The sermon on the mount. Jesus covers some intense topics here relating to those crying out to God in a moment of need but unwilling to walk in the will of God. These are the kinds of people who walk in a degree of power yet rogue in their conduct — unwilling to fulfill the will of God in the earth. What is the will of the Father? Jesus has much to say on the subject and it’s laid out in this epic teaching. Climaxing Jesus’ most epic message of all with the wisdom of building our house upon the rock. Not on the shifting sands, but the bedrock of honoring the Lord through obedience to His will.
A deeper week on the same gift of words of knowledge. Ultimately, this stems from learning to hear the voice of God. Pastor Josiah covers 3 voices that are often speaking to us. We must be equipped to discern which voice is what, and then have the courage to actually walk out what we’ve been hearing. Then, specifically with the word of knowledge gift — he gives practical keys on how to function in this powerful gift. What to look for when developing this language with God and how best to minister to others in words of knowledge for the grander purpose of redemption above all else. This is a can’t miss message!
Jesus warns us to beware of false prophets. They’re going to show up, which is why He made it a point to warn us and help us identify these kinds of threatening individuals. We can identify them by their fruit. A good tree produces good fruit — good good. A bad tree produces bad fruit. Pastor Josiah identifies many tools and personal experiences on how to look for the right fruit in the people of your life to ensure what’s hanging off their branches is good to eat. Furthermore, to look inwardly and identify what’s hanging off our own branches must also be good.
Covering the powerful gift of the baptism in the Holy Spirit — Pastor Tim brings incredible insights and encouragement for the listener to receive this wonderful gift. We need to walk empowered. If we want to live like Jesus, a powerful life is not optional!
We must enter in by the narrow gate with the intention of continuing on the narrow way. Nobody should enter into the narrow gate and stop. The journey continues on the narrow path following the lifestyle of Christ Jesus on a daily basis. There’s a healthy way to judge others and an unhealthy way. Learning to chisel those we love whom have given us that place is a beautiful thing when done properly.
The word of knowledge gift is truly a remarkable one. It can become an incredible tool in the tool belt of a mature Believer. Understanding how this gift functionally works and what its purpose is truly matters. Pastor Josiah breaks down many different Biblical instances where this word of knowledge gift shows up. He also shares several personal testimonies of how this gift working in tandem with other gifts have truly encouraged people from all over.
Words of knowledge take a lot of faith as they’re typically tested and proven in the moment. Still, knowing information is not enough. But when the intention is redemption a great purpose surfaces as to why this gift is given in the first place. There’s a great purpose than just having information downloaded by God — Pastor Josiah takes us deep into the subject then flows in words of knowledge at the end of the service as well. To God be the glory!
Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. We’re thrilled that Jesus touches on all the subjects, even the ones that are typically taboo in many circles. Here at Faith Chapel we’re not afraid to discuss the tough subject such as money; simply because Jesus talked about it and so should we. If we don’t talk about money, then Kingdom people will tend to misuse it. Who would be to blame? It’s the responsibility of leaders within the body of Christ to bring understanding concerning Kingdom truths for all people to grasp, yes including money.
Ultimately, this is the responsibility for anybody who claims to be a follower of Christ but in our educational circles and growth environments such as churches leaders should preach the truth. Pastor Josiah transparently takes us into the subject of finances on every level. Understanding that money is an important part of who we are, we don’t have to be afraid of it, nor misunderstand it, but see it as a great tool of worshipping God with. Money is connected to the heart, from our heart should flow the passions that own it like worshipping God. There’s much to say on the subject of tithing, generosity, attitude, missions, faithfulness and so much more. Open your heart and plan to make healthy adjustments as the Spirit of God leads you.
