Faith in Action: Mental Health and the Black Church

Episode 3 explores the impact of racial microaggressions on the mental health of Black women, leading to health disparities. These disparities are a result of the historical mistreatment of Black women (Lewis et al., 2017). Social workers collaborating with Black churches must recognize and confront discriminatory practices within systems that contribute to the development of mental health stressors (Walton & Oyewuwo-Gassika, 2017).

Today's episode showcases an interview with a pastor with pastoral and advanced social work expertise. The interview delves into the potential collaboration between mental health clinicians and Black churches.
