In John 11:38–44, Jesus calls Lazarus out of the tomb, but Lazarus emerges still bound in his graveclothes.
As I reflected on this passage, one thought remained with me: Lazarus had been wrapped for death, but now he was being unwrapped for life. This made me examine whether I am still carrying anything that belongs to the life from which Christ has called me.
In this personal reflection, I share what this passage taught me about obedience, trusting Jesus before I see the outcome, and walking in the new life He has given me.

Before Lazarus came out of the tomb, Jesus asked Martha a deeply personal question: “Believest thou this?”
In this episode, I reflect on what it means to trust Jesus not only because of what He can do, but because of who He is. John 11 reveals Christ as the Resurrection and the Life, and also as the compassionate Saviour who weeps with those who are grieving.
Can we still recognise His love when we do not understand His actions?

In loving memory of my sister, Nadine Chattell (Nada).
This is a deeply personal episode of Faith in the Journey.
After the sudden loss of my sister, Nadine, I wanted to take time to remember her — not only through the pain of losing her, but through the love, laughter, music, ordinary moments and memories we shared.
She knew how to make me laugh, especially when I was upset. She would mimic the way I spoke until I could not help but smile. We would sit together with our feet in each other’s laps, sing, make up songs, laugh, do each other’s hair, and simply enjoy being sisters.
In this episode, I speak honestly about grief, the questions that come with loss, and what it means to hold onto God when your heart is hurting and you do not have all the answers.
Psalm 34:18 (KJV)
“The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”
John 11:35 (KJV)
“Jesus wept.”
Before there was grief, there was love.
And that love is what I choose to remember.

In John 11:1–16, I am reminded that God’s love is not measured by how quickly He responds. Jesus loved Martha, Mary, and Lazarus, yet He still waited.
This passage led me to reflect on what happens in my own heart when the answer does not come straight away. Am I still praying? Am I still trusting? Am I still following? Or does the waiting begin to change how I see God?
This episode is a quiet reflection on faith, delay, and learning to trust the heart of Jesus even when His timing is different from mine.

In John 10:31–42, Jesus points to His works as evidence of who He is. Yet even with the truth before them, some still resisted Him.
This episode caused me to look inward and ask a searching question: Am I still teachable?
Am I willing to let God’s Word correct me, even when it challenges what I already think I know? Am I recognising what God has already shown me, or am I still asking Him to prove Himself again?
A quiet reflection on humility, truth, and keeping a heart that is willing to be shaped by God.

Sometimes there can be signs of growth on the surface while there are still things underneath that need to be dealt with.
This short reflection came from a simple moment in the garden, cutting back a bush that had one or two blossoms appearing at the top, while underneath there was old growth and debris that needed clearing away.
It caused me to ask a deeper question: am I satisfied with what appears to be blossoming, or am I still willing to let God deal with what is beneath the surface?
Sometimes, before healthier growth can come, God has to deal with the root.
In John 10:11–21, Jesus describes Himself as the Good Shepherd who knows His sheep and willingly lays down His life for them.
As I reflected on these words, I found myself asking: What does Jesus see when He looks at me?
This episode is a personal reflection on being completely known by Christ—my weaknesses, failures and the parts of me that still need changing—while remembering that His love also calls me to repentance, obedience and a life that follows His voice.
Scripture: John 10:11–21 (KJV)

There are times when life leaves us feeling overlooked, rejected, or forgotten. Yet John 9 reminds us of a powerful truth: Jesus never loses sight of those who belong to Him.
In this episode of Faith in the Journey, we reflect on John 9:35–41 and discover the compassion of Christ as He seeks out the man who had been cast aside. His encounter with Jesus reminds us that our greatest need is not simply to have our circumstances changed, but to know the One who came to seek and save.
Whether you’re walking through a season of uncertainty, feeling unseen, or simply longing to draw closer to the Lord, I pray this reflection encourages your heart and strengthens your faith.

While watering my garden, I found myself reflecting on the words of Jesus in John 12:24. As I looked at the seeds hidden beneath the soil, I was reminded that what appears buried is often being prepared for new life.
If you are in a season where you feel unseen, forgotten, or as though nothing is happening, I pray this reflection encourages you to trust the Lord, even when you cannot yet see what He is doing.
Scripture: John 12:24 (KJV)
“Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.”
