We looked at Rabbi Harold Kushner’s explanation of why God allows bad things to happen to a seemingly “Righteous” man, JOB- We will look at his conclusions about human suffering using the book of Job and Kushner’s conclusions.

Why Did God Command the Death of Women and Children?

We will be looking at “Offensive Passages of the Old Testament.” We will also be looking at a concept of “Theodicy.” This fancy word is a way we try to explain why God acts in a certain way when we really do not know. We will look at many sections in the Old Testament that confuse us as to why would God do this?  We will use Job, Exodus, Joshua, and many others and try to understand what is going on in these narratives. We will struggle though the texts, and see how powerful and wise our God is ….way beyond our understanding!!

Welcome to worship at Faith and Happy Easter!! “The Lord is risen! He is risen indeed!” David prophesied it! The Apostles witnessed it! Paul proclaimed it! The resurrection of Jesus is at the heart of everything we believe—the heart of life itself. It is why we are gathered this day and every Sunday to be refreshed by Christ’s resurrected glory in our worship and fellowship. Countless generations in all time, and in all places resonate with the glorious proclamation, “The Lord is risen! He is risen indeed!”
