This sermon is the first on a new sermon series on hope, called Bright Hope for Tomorrow. The sermon focuses on God's choice to use the church - the beautiful, imperfect church - to be the primary vessel to carry the message of hope to the world. The Scripture for the sermon are various verses from the 11th and 12th chapters of Hebrews.

This sermon challenges both of those ways of thinking to get at what Jesus actually means.

While we can find comfort in this, there is also a charge to us. Our action can model Jesus as the good shepherd by taking risks to follow Christ and care for God's sheep.
