Patience is a gift and I can’t wait to get it! These days require a lot of patience as we wait for our world to return to normal. Reflecting on the seed beneath the soil in the Letter if James, we can come to a better appreciation for what God is accomplishing even though we can’t always see it.

These are difficult days in which to remain patient! Yet when I can trust God’s perfect timing a new kind of patience is born within me. Regardless of circumstances my heart is at peace and a pervasive spirit of patience gets me through.

How frustrating is this! Almost three full months apart and no light at the end of the tunnel. Frustration, however, can serve as a helpful tool to identify the things in my life that need to change.

Where can anyone find a shred of hope when the world continues to be so dreadfully divided? We find our hope in Jesus Christ. Staying grounded in the Word rather than television and internet keeps our faith buoyant and vibrant! Our church building may be closed but our church is very much alive!

Outside our homes today doesn’t appear to be a lot of hope for improvement. The virus lingers and so does our anxiety along with it. Yet because we are Christ followers our hope stays intact and secure. That is simply because our hope doesn’t rest in ourselves or anything else. It rests comfortably in a person: the person of Jesus Christ!

What is the work and fail task list of a Christian disciple of the Lord? Is it not to be a light, a beacon of hope for others who are running low on hope and are feeling around in the dark for the right direction in which to go? Our work is never ending because there are always people near that need healing and situations that need redemption. If not us then who will do this work?
