Romans 6:1-11

Guest speaker John Crowder address the number one lie of religion which is to think that we are enemy of God. God was never your enemy. Jesus was never abandoned by God on the cross. And no one killed Jesus except Himself.

Bill Vanderbush speaks on how perspective is the difference between you seeing earth or heaven all around. We are meant to live in a no distance no separation with God. The dwelling place of where you are is where God is also. Lift your head a see you are already with God.

Sarina speaks on the sixth beatitude described in Matthew 5 that is, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." To be pure in heart is a heart posture; it is actively and consciously choosing to give space to see God as He is. Seeing God happens when we are open and trust in letting Him see us back, it is a both ways flow.

Jonathan Gale continues the teaching on the beatitudes by diving deep into the fifth one; "blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy." Mercy is often connected to God's forgiveness. Mercy does not pronounce judgment, it is not quick to judge intentions. God has called us to believe the best in others. It is important to forgive others not just for the hurt they may have caused, but even forgive them when they do not meet our expectations of them. We need to release others of our expectations of them which is extending mercy.

Daryl speaks on the third beatitude in Matthew 5. When we as believes come into the Kingdom of God, that is of righteousness; and we get to awaken to that righteousness within each of us. Death is so small and insignificant compared to living. We are not to identify with our shell (flesh) but with the Kingdom of righteousness that lives within us!

2 Corinthians 5

Dan Heroy speaks on how Jesus didn’t let the outside circumstances navigate and control His outlook and attitude in life, or His belief system. In the midst of political and religious persecution and corruption throughout Jesus entire life he stayed focused, and stayed faithful to His beliefs, and to His unique purpose in life. He is our great example of meekness. We give up our power and our effectiveness as Christians when we start to believe that things are just too bad in the world around us.

Daryl speaks on how the Holy Spirit is reminding the church of who she is, and who He is. In a time when the enemy will try and steal, kill, and destroy; we get to walk in the remembrance of the goodness of God.

Lin speaks on how we are hardwired for happiness, and the Be Attitudes in Matthew 5 are all about how to be the happiest. Being poor in spirit is a positioning of the heart that recognized the outermost dependency on God; to realize we were never meant to walk alone but to do all things with God. Our identity was never meant to have it all together independently; the core of our identity is in connection to God. The measure we are aware of our need for Him is the measure we become aware of Him.
