When God meticulously designed you prior to your ever taking your first breath, he had an overall picture in his mind of exactly who you would become. He gave you a purpose, he gave you incredible potential, and he determined how much would be possible for you in your life. He is the only one who has a clear picture of the person you will become. In a sense if you were a puzzle, he’s the only one who already knows what the finished product will look like.

We are deep into the season of Advent now, and the lighting of advent candles reminds me of how each of us is called to share our light with others. Imagine that each one of us is a candle. We would have the ability to bring light into the darkness. In fact, one single flame can completely eradicate darkness, however, it’s only if we choose to be lit and stay lit by the love of Jesus that we can actually make any difference where there is darkness. An unlit candle doesn't impact the dark right?

I hear it over and over again where people are turned off of religion. They read about church money scandals, religious leaders who have committed horrendous sins, or see how people in society are at times shunned from churches or exiled from families because of decisions they have made. What would Jesus think of all this? One of my biggest aha moments in my faith journey was when I focused and prioritized Jesus and his teachings outside of and separate from quote un quote “Religion”.  Girl, this topic can be seen as super controversial, but I think it's super important to discuss. Let's be brave and do this!

Ladies, the enemy gets into my brain sometimes and tries to make me believe I’m going to miss the purpose boat! Ever since Adam and Eve and the serpent and the apple in the book of Genesis the world has been broken. Sin entered into the world in that story, and our world remains broken to this day. It won’t be until Jesus’s return that we can actually experience full restoration and true peace. There is a type of peace though that you do have the ability to control. Jesus, thank you so much for loving me in the way that you do! You designed me on purpose for a purpose. I want to live to my full potential today, with a mindset that honors you and a soul that seeks to know you better. Jesus I know that you are the way, the truth and the life, and I ask you to guide me and reveal to me what it is that you want to show me here, have me experience here, and learn from this season. Help mold me and shape me into the best version of me. I will live today as your vessel ready to receive your word, respond to your promptings, and pour out your overflowing love to those all around me. Please allow your thoughts to become my thoughts, your ways to become my ways and your will to become what I truly desire. Jesus if you are in it I want it and if you are not I don’t!
