Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you weren't sure what to do today because you weren't sure what tomorrow would bring?  "I wish God would just send me a sign, or write me a text message, anything so that I would know what to do."  

2,600 years ago there was a group of people in the same predicament with the same questions.  It was to this group of people that God spoke through the prophet Jeremiah and showed them His purpose for them.

Today, Pastor Rich concludes our Caring at Christmas series with a discussion from Ruth 4 on what it means to bless others.  Boaz probably wasn't thinking of all the future ramifications his actions would bring - he simply did what was right.  His actions resulted in his being the great grandfather of king David, as well as being an ancestor of Jesus Christ, the Messiah.

We can learn from Boaz that the best way to bless others is to do what is right and trust God for the results, taking small steps of obedience even when it doesn't seem effective.  

Ruth 4

If you're living a safe, calculated life you're not walking in faith.  Faith requires that you take steps when you're not sure of the outcome.  Through the "hallmark movie" that is Ruth chapter 3, Pastor Rich shows us how caring for others requires us to take risks.  If God doesn't show up you might suffer tragic losses in your finances, reputation, or standing in community / family.  If He does show up, you'll be part of an amazing blessing.  

Ruth 3

Have you ever become aware of a particular need and thought to yourself "I hope someone does something about that"?  Sometimes the need might seem beyond your abilities or resources.  

Today Pastor Rich shows us that caring for others takes real work.  If God has opened your eyes to a need, He will give you the strength, ability and resources to meet that need.  The real question is, will you allow yourself to be used by God, or will He have to pass you by?

This week Pastor Rich begins a new series from the book of Ruth on how to care well for others this Christmas.

Today we'll discover that caring requires a selfless commitment to another person, through good times and bad times.

On October 30 FaithBridge sponsored a 50 mile walk to raise money for the Lighthouse Home for women involved in sexual trauma.  In the midst of rain and cold temperatures, the body of Christ came together as one to raise almost seven times our initial financial goals.  Today we began our service with testimonies of what God did in the lives of some of the participants and volunteers.  

In today's passage, we learn that you're never too broken to be used by God.  He gives us the power and the gifts to accomplish His will.
