The short book of Obadiah is completed and the book of Micah is introduced in this session by Vicar Groh.

The duty of husband and wife in a marriage is discussed. If a husband or wife refuses their duty, this breaks the marriage and it is a form of abandonment. Do not defraud one and another except for an agreed time such as Lent, then come back together so Satan cannot tempt either. Other subjects discussed include arranged marriages and the implications of divorce of children on the household.

Amos remains steadfast in sharing his visions, despite Amaziah's attempts to silence him. His vision of a basket of summer fruit serves as a warning of the Lord's impending judgment, which will soon befall the people of Israel due to their idolatrous worship, greed, and callous mistreatment of their fellow countrymen. If we persist in wrongdoing and disregard God's grace, we will face the same consequences - punishment and eternal separation from God and His life-giving Word.

After delivering numerous oracles and visions of impending judgment, Amos's prophecy takes an unexpected turn, concluding with a message of hope. A day of abundant blessings is on the horizon, as the Lord will faithfully fulfill His covenant promises and bring about restoration by establishing the eternal kingdom of His Messiah.

Our God is merciful and always ready to receive the repentant heart, lifting it up with His message of forgiveness and peace through Jesus.
