Scripture: Luke 2:22-35 Psalm 24 Isaiah 49:6 Isaiah 49:2 Leviticus 12, Jesus is presented at the Temple when He is 40 days old as required by the Old Testament Law. Simeon, who had awaited this moment to see the Messiah, holds Jesus and prophesied that He is the light to be revealed to all the world, including the Gentiles.

Scripture: Luke 2:1-21, Jesus, the Lamb of God, is born in Bethlehem. This lesson expands our understanding of the many significant circumstances surrounding the birth of Christ.

Scripture: Mark 4:11; Hebrews 13:8; Revelation 6:9, Common elements, bread and wine, converted by Jesus into holy elements by His spoken words are given back to us in the Lord's Supper. We receive these elements passively as His gifts to us. These spoken words by Jesus (Matthew 26:26-28) are the heart of Christianity. This eating in the Lord's Supper is for the sustenance of His people.

His flesh is spiritual and whoever eats it is transformed into spiritual, holy and living people -- into His own likeness.

Scripture: Luke 1:39-77 1 Samuel 2 Exodus 6:1-6, Mary, pregnant with Jesus, visits her Aunt Elizabeth during her pregnancy with John the Baptist. Mary's Song (called the Magnificat) is examined and compared with Hannah's Prayer. John the Baptist is born and named. Zechariah's prophecy is given.
