Scripture: Luke 1:18-45 Isaiah 7:14 Zechariah 3:1-10 Genesis 1:2 Acts 1:8 2 Samuel 7, In chapter 1 our teaching continues to describe two miraculous pregnancies: Elizabeth with John the Baptist and Mary with the Jesus, the Son of God. Mary goes into the hill country of Judea to stay three months with Elizabeth during this time of pregnancy for both.

Scripture: Luke 1:1-24 Malachi 4:5-6 Numbers 6:1-21, The gospel of Luke was written between 55 and 60 A.D. It is an eye-witness account of the Word (i.e. Jesus). Verse 1:4 gives the purpose of the book: "that you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught". The first section foretells the birth of John the Baptist, the greatest and last of the Old Testament prophets.

Scripture: Hebrews 12:23-24; 1 Corinthians 10:17; Philippians 1:23; Revelation 4-5; Revelation 22:20;1 Corinthians 16:22, Heaven and earth have been joined/re-bound. Holy communion (Lord's Supper) is a foretaste of the feast to come. Benefits of the Supper are discussed in this teaching.

Scripture: Galatians 5:22-25;Ephesians 2:8-9;John 15:16;Philippians 2:12-13;1 Timothy 2:3-4;John 3:17; 1 Timothy 4:10; Romans 8:15-17; Romans 8:26-27, This final lecture of the series summarizes the prior two lectures and concludes with a discussion of spiritual gifts, the primary one being love.

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 10:1-4;Romans 8:10; 1 Corinthians 15:22; John 6:54, Pages 196 to 204 are covered. Among the questions are: Does worthy eating and drinking in the Lord's Supper bring physical benefit? Yes, where the soul is healed the body benefits. When we come to the table repenting of a sin, no matter what extreme, we are forgiven. Death sought to devour Christ, yet Christ devoured death for you.

Scripture: John 16:1-15;John 6:44; 1 Corinthians 12:1-13; 1 Corinthians 12:27-13:3, The Holy Spirit preaches Jesus and baptizes. Souls are regenerated by His convicting the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. A discussion of the gifts of the Holy Spirit concludes this lecture.

Scripture: Revelation 22:1-5; John 4:1-14;Matthew 26:28;Genesis 15:5-21, The benefits of the Lord's Supper from a man-ward (i.e. benefits to mankind) and a God-ward perspective (i.e. benefits to God) are discussed in this session covering pages 188-195 in Chapter 11.

Scripture: John 14:1-20;John 14:25-27; John 15:26: Acts 2:1-41; Acts 10:38;John 3:3-8, This opening lecture gives the nature of the Holy Spirit in the context of the Trinity. Chief work of the Holy Spirit as revealed in Scripture is discussed. An example of a Spirit-filled sermon is referenced in Acts 2:1-41.

Scripture: 2 John 7; 1 John 4:1-2, Pages 183 to 187 are covered today. The flesh of Christ has the power to give life. The Body and Blood of God's Son acts mightily to forgive. We become the body of Christ by partaking the Body of Christ!
