Finalizing the subject of the Gift of Prophecy Pastor Josiah takes us deeper into some prophetic etiquette on not just how to receive a healthy word but how to deliver a healthy word. There’s a unique parallel in the storyline of religious leader Jairus coming to Jesus on behalf of his 12 year old daughter. While Jesus is going to heal his daughter, a woman who has an issue of blood comes full of faith to be healed by Jesus and we learn that she’s suffered with this issue for 12 years. Biblical numerology teaches us that the number 12 is indicative of government. It’s not a far stretch to see that this is a picture of a sick and dying government whose life is flowing out of it. What’s the answer? An encounter with Jesus! As we preach and stand for Jesus in all things, His love and message should permeate every area of our lives! How you treat your family, what you call entertainment, how you spend your money, how you vote at the ballot box — EVERYTHING! Jesus should infiltrate every area of the surrendered persons life — yes even the political realm.

There’s 2 sides of the coin of prophecy. Foretelling & forth telling. Describing what will happen in the future no matter what…and causing the future to happen because we partner with God’s word to us in obedience. When Elijah prophesied there’d be a drought, at his word it didn’t rain nor was there dew on the ground for 3.5 years! God has built into this world whereby mankind partners with God. As we partner with Him, His words can fill our mouths and His purposes are rendered to us to walk out to the level of faith and obedience we’re willing to. This coincides with prophecy at its core. Hearing from God and saying what He says. Some things simply won’t happen because we don’t partner with God to see them happen…this has got to change!

Continuing the thought that the mysteries of the Kingdom are reserved for the seeking heart of the family of God. Jesus’ use of parables was to hide truths concerning the Kingdom to be discovered. Out of relationship the disciples were able to ask specific questions and get revelation of what Jesus meant when He taught. We as sons and daughters have that same privilege! It’s His joy to reveal the Kingdom to us! We are the treasure hidden in the field. We are His choice pearls! We’re so special in His eyes, perhaps far more than we realize and He is stretching us as far as we’ll let Him.
