Elijah’s ministry was one of great power, but also of great pressure and responsibility. We find in 2 Kings, Elijah passes the mantle of his ministry to Elisha. We see the same God who answered the prayer by sending fire from heaven…the same God who encouraged the discouraged prophet... and carry Elijah away on chariots of fire, remain faithful to Elisha as he continues the ministry.
