You get the call. Someone you love is in trouble, and you expect help to come right away. But it doesn't. Not that hour. Not that day. The silence stretches on, and you're left wondering if anyone's coming at all.
That's exactly where Mary and Martha find themselves. They send word to Jesus that His close friend Lazarus is sick—dying, even—and surely He'll drop everything. Instead, He waits.
Two more days. By the time He arrives, Lazarus is already in the tomb.
So what do you do when God seems to delay right when you need Him most? Today we're in John 11:1–16, where we find out that the delay isn't a sign that God has stopped caring—it's the setup for something bigger than anyone in that story could have imagined.
The sermon is called "The Delay Before the Display." Let's get into it.
