Beyond Donations: Embracing New Family This Christmas
Do our donations distract us from loving one another? Food drives, toy donations, end-of-year fundraisers— all these are important to keep crucial ministries going. But is that where our responsibility to those in need ends? Perhaps the best gift we can give others is the gift of ourselves.
Brenda Parks from Miracle Hill Foster Care will join us to talk about specific ways we can expand our families to include children in foster care.
This is the time of year where we celebrate Jesus coming to Earth to expand His family to include you and me. Maybe this Christmas we should really think of ways to pay it forward.
Does God hate our Christmas celebrations? We are going to talk about how we can please God and love those that need Him most among the busyness of the Christmas season. Kyle Jenkins from Loving All Peoples joins our discussion and shares stories of how he and his team went into brothels and crack houses to share Christ with those imprisoned and out of the reach of the Church.
What are we missing in our current American Christian expressions of family, community, and discipleship? Are our peer-led Bible studies reflecting real discipleship? Larry Fowler has authored many books and worked with AWANA International and youth ministry for over 35 years. But now he has started his own ministry -the Legacy Coalition- to encourage grandparents to take ownership in the discipleship process of their grandkids. The Legacy Coalition's mission is to equip grandparents to impact future generations who know, love and serve Christ. Grandparents are incredibly important to their grandchildren. Grandparents are uniquely positioned to spiritually influence their grandchildren. Grandparents have a Biblical mandate to do so.
