Welcome to episode 48, in which we discuss the role of the witch in pop culture and our own lives. What is it about magic-using women and the association with darkness and evil that gets us--and so many others--all fired up? We're doing our best to figure it out. Mistakes: Missy keeps saying that Dave Eggers wrote The VVitch. It was actually Robert Eggers. But hey, Dave Eggers, if you want to come talk to us about Missy's problems with the film, you're welcome as well. Also, the comic Missy refers to in the end of the episode is Cry Havoc, not Cry Wolf. Someday she'll stop making these kinds of mistakes.

Warning: Merri asks a wildly inappropriate question about Rose and Greg from Steven Universe and we keep talking about Bitch Planet, so we've slapped an explicit warning on this one. It's a bit risqué.

Mistakes: Susan Pevensie is given both a magical horn that summons help and her bow and arrows. Missy forgot about the horn, but really, it only solidifies her point.

Warnings: There are serious Stranger Things spoilers contained within, both in our 'What We've Been Up To' section and the discussion of conspiracy theories. We do warn beforehand, but if you're really worried about it, skip forward by a significant amount when Missy starts talking about it early on, and maybe avoid when we shift gears after discussing Gravity Falls (which is miraculously spoiler free).
