Just at the start of a New Year, the Midwestern United States found itself hammered with unprecedented winter weather, a week of which has devastated Texas. Millions of Americans without power, heat and running water. They were caught without warning and no infrastructure to handle this kind of weather. As of this recording almost 3 million people in Texas are without power. 21 people are dead, among them a younger mother and her daughter who died in their own garage from carbon monoxide poisoning…just trying to stay warm. 

In the city of Austin, where the Bethesda Austin team lives and works, over 2,500 people are struggling to stay warm and fed and they desperately need our help. In December over 350 of us worldwide held hands and mobilized to save the lives of children. Now we’re needed again.
