he everyone,
here is the new episode of faltradio, showcasing the next batch of tapes which will be out later this month. it’s a pretty percussive batch including Hakan Jonsson, Jeremy Rosenstock, Partly Zombish & Yoshitake Kawai.
also i made a new outlet for the scanned falt-artworks, over at ko-fi. high-res printable scans of the collages I made in the last years for the label will be posted over there and I am also raising funds for a 100 pages book I want to make out of these later this year.

Hello everyone,
sometimes I wander through my external hard-drive looking for a specific recording. They are hidden in folders labeled material, NEU or für ein tape. I never find what I am looking for. Today e.g. while looking for a recording I made in Barcelona some years ago (a train, a bird, a broken record, the usual stuff) I found this piece of music I once made for Giovanni Lami, who was curating an exhibition and had (amongst other things) music playing constantly in one of the rooms.
That’s all I remember actually; though the file info tells me that it was last edited: Mittwoch, 23. Mai 2018 um 13:50, which means that I made this on my day off (because here in France schools are closed on Wednesdays) and the time stamp suggest that this was made while my kid was taking a nap; I was probably standing at my so-called desk at that time: a pile of cardboard boxes filled with the things I call my Musikkram: boxes filled with cables and connectors, tape recorders, broken walkman and a bunch of old dictaphones, damaged bells, pencils, plastic boxes & tiny metal objects, a small mixer, flutes, torn appart guitar strings and contact mics sticked to a wooden block using some chewing gum.
Have fun with this one. For the next episode of Faltradio I asked a friend to come up with something.
Have a nice day, C
:-)
So, every once in a while my friend Hano Leucha drops off a tape in my mail-box. Not a wetransfer download nor drop-box thing; no a real cassette tape (recycled tapes mostly) filled with his recent recordings.
He has released a tape on Falt some years ago (wow, already 5 years) named “letter to falt”, some kind of joke between us two; a description of this habit of Hano dropping off the material in the mail box. So here is a tape rip made from a recent drop-off; fade-in and fade-out made by me, otherwise untouched and send out to you without permission.
Also: There is a new batch of Falt-releases out this week. Tapes are mostly sold out already (I am seriously happy about that) but the download is as always nyp. Please go and see for yourself.
There is also a new release by myself - C. - which is available as a (nyp) download now and will be released on a cassette later this fall. A short release (C20) named “oh Trouble”.
Have a great day, I try to make sure to send something next month..

Some years ago (2018) I released a tape named “Nurformal” (only-formal) via an entity called verz. I say entity because I am not good with words but also because this was not only a label but an experimental music imprint which also had it’s own concert series and podcast, all run and directed by Phil Maguire.
The Verzcast 005 was a Chemiefaserwerk mixtape. I asked Phil some weeks ago to write some words about the podcast (and also ask permission to share his mix here).
P: verzcast was a radio show broadcast monthly between May and December 2017 on ResonanceEXTRA (UK). Continuing the original theme of verz - exploring the how and why of ‘quiet’ in experimental music - verzcast featured a deep dive into an artist’s catalogue and practice.
The Chemiefaserwerk episode was broadcast 3rd September 2017 and I cut this thing in half for this transmission. 2nd half will be on here next month.
Please check in with verz here: https://verzimprint.bandcamp.com/music
Have a nice week, I make sure to stay in touch, C.
Hello there,
This morning I just found a Usb flash drive from a few years back (a memory stick or thumb drive as you might call it) and there are some wonderful sounds on it I had totally forgotten about. So here is a quickly made rough mix of some of these materials. Wild and strange and whatnot, if you ask me. As always there is no idea behind all that, I just like how it sounds.
I play some flute, shiny drones, guitar, the obligatory field recordings and there is even a drum computer (for a few shy moments).
I hope you have a great week, 3 new Falt releases are in the making and will be released next week, I am also working on a new fanzine and some collaborative work.
I make sure to send something new next month,
c.
i also found this picture of me on the drive
Februar : is a raw, unmastered and unfinished rather short live-set, listen at reasonable volume please, sounds recorded recently (air pump, sticks, typewriter and books) + 2 all-time favorites of mine I had on tape (bowls, radio static); than apply the treatment (note to myself)! hope you enjoy this weird thing.
I guess you all have noticed the wonderful new bunch of tapes out on the label last week, the first 5 releases of this year, if not make sure to check them out

I add this picture I took yesterday on my way home. Have a nice weekend, i’ll make sure to send something new next month,

Hello friends,
Happy you are all still around, even if FALTRADIO and this mailing list has been quiet for 3 months.
By today I have set up the discography mode over at Bandcamp, which means if you want to download all the digital releases at once: you now can. In order to do so I had to set one of the tapes to a price of 1 euro (fyi: all others stay NYP starting at 0).
You can click on “download full discography” and have to throw in the buck to get it done. I think it might be interesting for those of you who want to have the whole catalogue but who don’t have the time to go through all 124 releases and click 124 times on download.. check it out.
Also: this episode of FALTRADIO is a bit different. It is a mix of sounds I have collected lately from my working title tapes (how I call them in my head.. the tapes I use to make music with..) and some other sources (saxophone by Artem Spar, recorded in Berlin this summer and additional field-recordings and percussion by Moritz Möller of Tyran Tyran); so please consider this a raw mix of ideas which could or maybe should form into a modest live-set someday I could play occasionally here or there.
Thanks again for all the positive energy you granted FALT and FALTRADIO this year! New episodes will be live every month starting in January, showcasing the new releases and maybe some older ones too..
Stay safe, have a nice day and week and month and end of the year and let’s keep talking..
Best, C.
