In our Season 2 of Family of Conviction we will be interviewing various experts about Vinny's case and others like it. In our first episode we wanted to share parts of a conversation with Attorney Oscar Michelen

With over 30 years experience, Oscar practices in Federal and State courts throughout the NY metro area. He is also an adjunct professor of law at Touro Law School. In this episode, we focus on Nassau County Judge Therese K. Corrigan. We cover the precedent that should have had her recuse herself from Vinny's trial and the extreme judicial bias she showed to the prosecution leading to Vinny's wrongful conviction. We also include a special guest interview with wrongful conviction expert Lonnie Soury about the appeal efforts for Jessie Friedman. Jessie was the subject of Andrew Jarecki's 2003 Oscar-nominated documentary Capturing the Friedmans.
