We then discuss the events leading up to their death and the aftermath where the dad spent 3 years alternately claiming Tina (the mother) would never see them alive again and claiming they were with person or persons unknown to keep them away from Tina's alleged (and completely unproven) abuse. How four people made a murderous 'family' that waylaid, robbed and killed many who stopped for supplies at their store along the Independence Fort Scott Trail. Their eventual discovery and the subsequent investigation revealed multiple bodies along their property which became known as Hell's Half Acre.
