When we become followers of Christ, we often use words to describe that change - that we are saved, born again, or that we are a new creation.

Today's message is brought to us by Duncan Barlow, and it's a story about that change, although not exactly how you might think at first.

It's the story of the Gerasenes Demoniac and how Jesus saved and transformed his life.  When Jesus and his disciples crossed the Sea of Galilee into the region of the Gerasenes, they met a violent, tormented man who lived among the burial tombs. He was so strong that chains and shackles could not hold him, and he constantly cried out and cut himself.

But after Jesus drove out the demons that possessed him into a herd of pigs, the man was found sitting calmly, fully clothed, and in his right mind.

Today's episode is based on a question - what (or who) is the most precious thing in your life?

It's not an easy question to answer, but there will be times in our lives when we need to decide what is the most important or precious thing we possess.  What would you miss most if it wasn't there?

In the book of Matthew chapter 13, Jesus tells two short stories that relate to this topic - stories about the kingdom of God.

Our message today centres around one word - propitiation.  It's probably not a word that you have used recently or have though about much, but the concept of propitiation is incredibly important to those who follow Jesus.

At its core, the word propitiation just means the turning away of anger - and in the Christian context it relates to the mercy shown to humanity by God through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Our special guest today is Rev. Lawrence Claire who is the minister of the Wilston Presbyterian Church in the inner north of Brisbane. In this message, Lawrence will unpack this word and concept, and how it transforms our relationship with God through the sacrifice of Jesus.

Our message today comes from chapter 18 in the Gospel of Matthew, commonly known as The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant.

It's a story about forgiveness, mercy and a reminder that holding onto grudges, withholding forgiveness or refusing to show mercy to others contradicts the grace we receive from our Heavenly Father.

Rev. Lorraine Lynch is the priest-in-charge at The Church of the Resurrection, from the Anglican Parish of Aspley-Albany Creek.

What do you think is worth working for?  What is it that drives you, what do you put your energy into and why do you do it?

Today Russell Williams brings us a message from John chapter 6 - just after Jesus feeds the 5000.  In this passage Jesus instructs his followers to prioritise eternal life over temporary, physical satisfaction.

It's a passage where Jesus commends their exertion, but not their purpose.  The point that Jesus goes on to make is that we are safe because God does the work to save us.  It's not about our work, but trusting Him to make us secure.

What do you think of when you picture a handman?  Is it an unrenovated house, with dozens of unfinished projects underway?  Or perhaps it's of a shed full of new and unused tools?

For many of us, the stereotype of the handyman is not someone who finishes projects - but the good news is that God isn't a handyman.  He doesn't abandon half finished work or lose interest in people. 

Today Rev. Allan Quak from Bible Society Australia looks at the passage from Philippians 1:6, where Paul says "being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus".

Who is my neighbour?  This is the question that gives rise to the parable of Jesus known as The Good Samaritan.
