One of the cornerstones of science fiction, the Star Wars universe is preparing to release it's eleventh feature film in just a couple of months so we're taking this opportunity to look back at the rest of those now-iconic films and pick our top five moments. As you can imagine we could easily have done a top 50 as there are so many to choose from and we also want to hear from you too! Let us know your favourite Star Wars moments over on Twitter.
For our first episode under our new name we're going to look at Joker - starring Joaquin Phoenix and directed by Todd Phillips, this non-canon psychological thriller follows the life of Arthur Fleck, a struggling comedian desperately clinging on to his sanity while the world around him crumbles and beats him down. As his grip on reality fades a dark new persona arises - one he seems all too comfortable with.
The film is tipped by many as an early contender for several Oscar awards too and by releasing it under the "DC Dark Label" umbrella, Warner Bros have managed to give themselves some breathing room for those expecting a swift Batman cameo.
If, like us, you're a fan of true crime drama shows and anything which deals with serial killers then Netflix's "Mindhunter" is probably something you've already binged and fallen in love with us. Join us as we discuss the exploits of Holden Ford and Bill Tench as they break new ground in the pioneering field of Behavioural Sciences at the FBI.
Disney are diving head-first into the crowded world of streaming platforms with the impending release of the Disney+ streaming service and taking the huge step of linking it in with the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Star Wars universe that we've seen played out over the last few decades. If, like us, this move excites and intrigues you then you'll want to hear our thoughts as we talk about the move itself as well as some of the major titles announced for the service which is due to launch in the US later this year.
Talc up your spandex and be sure to practise your finishing move before listening to our review of the third season of GLOW - the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling - shown on Netflix.
With Alisson Brie (most famous for her role as Annie on Community) leading a star-studded ensemble cast this look at the women's wrestling movement in North America during the 1980s is based on a real wrestling organisation and it's trials and tribulations along the way. Definitely one to watch if like us you grew up watching wrestling.
So it looks like Marvel and Sony have had a little falling out over the terms of the new Spider-Man sharing arrangement and the major casualty of this is ol' webhead himself! As it stands right now Spider-Man will not appear in the MCU or any other films produced by Disney - only films made and produced by Sony. Will things change in the future? More than likely - why ruin a perfectly good thing - but until then we'll talk about the possible impact this has on both companies, where we go from here and our thoughts on the whole thing. Come join us!
The Boys is Amazon Prime's dark and gritty look at the world of corporate superheroes based on a comicbook by Garth Ennis who is known for putting a violent, unforgiving tone of comics for both Marvel and DC in the past. The show follows the adventures of "The Seven" - a gang of world famous superheroes backed by a global conglomerate, Vought International - and many other heroes who all view membership as the pinnacle of their superhero career.
We'll also be answering a few questions we've had on Twitter and going into more detail about our upcoming rebrand including unveiling our new name!
Another year, another San Diego Comic Con comes and goes and another set of jaws hit the floor as we get some sneak peeks and trailers of what's to come over the next few years on television and the big screen. 2019 saw the return of Marvel to Hall H after missing last year and, as expected, they made quite an impact this year and stole all the headlines.
Lets us know your favourite moments over on Twitter and if there's anything you especially loved or hated.
As the dust settles on "Avengers: Endgame" and the world comes to term with "the snap" (or "the blip" as they know it) we join Peter Parker, our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, as he struggles to come to terms with the loss of his mentor, Iron Man/Tony Stark. Far From Home sees Peter and his classmates take a trip around Europe to see the sights, get some much needed R&R and to join S.H.I.E.L.D. in a huge operation to save our Earth from being destroyed. Wait... what?!
The finest program produced by Netflix is back for it's much-anticipated third season and it's broken records in a matter of days. 40M+ households started the show and 18M+ completed it within the first three days of release. That should go someway to showing how popular this show is as we travel once again to Hawkins, Indiana to follow El, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas and the rest of our new friends to see what horror sci-fi shenanigans they're up to this time.
