Nolan cautions Mark about using his skills for things that are "beneath" him. Debbie continues to investigate her husband, with a little nudge from an unexpected source. We get a huge nerd meta moment with an appearance from the principal of Mark's school. The new Guardians of the Globe are forced to come together when the safety of their own is threatened. Against the advice from his father, Mark gets a very painful lesson in "Father Knows Best".

On this episode of the Fandom Hybrid Podcast, we discuss the second episode of the Netflix series Shadow and Bone. In the aftermath of the Volcra attack in the Fold, Alina's life is forever changed when she is revealed to be the long-prophesied Sun Summoner. After Alina is whisked away to the Little Palace, Mal fights to be reunited with her. Kaz is determined to find a way through the Fold to take on Dessen's job, even though it puts him at odds with Inej. We learn more about General Kirigan, the power of the Grisha, and the Drüskelle (Grisha hunters). Alina struggles to settle into her new environment. Kaz has a run-in with a couple of old friends, and is moved to extremes to secure Inej's temporary freedom for the job at task.

On this episode of the FHP, we discuss the fourth episode of Invincible. We start out the episode with a nod to The Mummy when an ancient God is resurrected for reasons yet unknown. Mark and Nolan continue to train and bond, while Debbie's visit with Olga adds to her growing doubts about Nolan. Mark gets more than he bargained for on two fronts when he navigates his first official date with Amber, followed by being sent on a covert mission to Mars that has some disastrous results. As the remaining Mauler Brother begins to work on creating another clone, we learn that Robot may have his own, personal reasons for setting the Mauler Brothers free. Cecil lays his cards on the table with Damien Darkblood when his snooping becomes problematic.

Side note: as of this posting it has been announced that Invincible has been renewed for Seasons 2 and 3!

On this episode of the Fandom Hybrid Podcast, we discuss the new Netflix series Shadow and Bone. The series, which is based on the best-selling "Grishaverse" series of books by Leigh Bardugo, follows Alina Starkov as she embarks on an adventure that has the potential to change everything.

In the country of Ravka, the The Shadow Fold is a mysterious wall of shadow that extends from one end of the country to the other, separating Ravka from the rest of the world. In the midst of war,  Alina and her best friend Mal find themselves in the middle of a prophecy that will not only change the course of their lives, but could also change the course of their country. Their only goal is to stay together and protect each other as they have done since childhood, but an unknown secret could tear them apart - if the monsters in the Fold don't do so first.

#startrek On this episode of the FHP, we take another journey into the past with the second of our podcast birthday episodes, in which the birthday gal/girl gets to choose a show/movie that they want to discuss. For Lorrie's birthday (which fell on January 31), she decided that she wanted to discuss a two-parter from the Star Trek universe: the Past Tense episodes from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, season 3.

In this episode, Sisko, Bashir, and Dax attempt to beam themselves to Earth to attend a conference, but an anomaly sends them 300 years into Earth's past, to the year 2024. A time of social unrest, Sisko and Bashir have to try to survive within the city of San Francisco's "Sanctuary" community, while Dax has better luck on the other side of the tracks. They attempt to find a way back to each other (and home) without changing anything in the timeline that will alter history. You can probably guess how that goes.

On this episode of the Fandom Hybrid Podcast, we discuss the third episode of the Amazon Prime series, Invincible. As the world says goodbye to the Guardians of the Globe, several people within Nolan's circle begin to have doubts about what really happened at Guardians HQ. In the wake of the funerals, Cecil hires Robot to form a new Guardians team, and the results are less than exemplary. Atom Eve deals with a double betrayal, and teams up with Invincible to face a new foe. Mark's social life seems to be taking a positive turn. The Mauler Twins receive assistance in breaking out of prison. Debbie receives a surprise visit from someone that gives her more reasons to have doubts about her husband.

#marvel #MCU #thefalconandthewintersoldier On this episode of the Fandom Hybrid Podcast, the crew does a thorough recap and review of the finale (?) episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. As Karli and the Flag Smashers move forward with their attack on the GRC, Sam finally picks up the mantle passed down to him from Steve Rogers and goes to deal with the problem as the new Captain America. At Sam's request, Sharon has joined him and Bucky to try to bring the Flag Smasher problem to a peaceful resolution. However, John Walker's plans for revenge (and a not-so-unexpected reveal of the Power Broker) causes some complications. However, Sam's impact as the new Captain America starts to bear some fruit as the series comes to an end. Will we see Sam and Bucky again? The final title card for the series seems to suggest so, as well as an announcement that a new Captain America movie (focusing on Sam's Cap) is currently in development.Although the series is over (for now), there will be one more opportunity to discuss the series as a whole. Next month, Hanako will be joining a roundtable discussion of the series that will be hosted by the Marvelous Madames Podcast. The show will also feature Darrell of the Taylor Network of Podcasts, and Charles from the Sci-Fi Party Line Podcast. The episode is scheduled for release on Memorial Day, so we hope you'll check it out!
