Fangs Up

In a late episode of the Fangs Up Podcast, we celebrate the salvaging of a signing class and look to see how the Rattlers address the needs of the FAMU football team.

We also saw that FAMU got a split decision from the basketball teams and the Girls of Summer prepare for the upcoming season.

If you are a fan of FAMU athletics, chances are your team did not do well this weekend.

At least the Track team is still doing well and Baseball season is coming

We have been hearing from outsiders that FAMU supporters have treated AD Sykes unlike any other school in the country has.

The fans have been rude, overzealous and no other fanbase has stood in the way of a coaching hire like the fans of Florida A&M have.

We did some research and found this information to be untrue.

Also FAMU Women's basketball put up a good fight while the Men won.

A decision which could have been made weeks ago is finally made to hire the next head football coach of FAMU football.

Also everyone except one team walked away with a W.

And we might have a legendary guest on the show.

You heard any news on the New Coach?

Nope me neither and not having any word about the upcoming leader of the most lucrative sport on campus is troubling to all the other sports that rely on the success of this one program.

Also the basketball teams get much needed win against Mississippi Valley, the Track team is hot and the spring sports are about to begin.

So we read between the lines of what they were saying in the meeting and can make an educated guess at who the coaching selection pool will be.

But the question is does it really matter? It did not matter who the top candidates were in the search for an Athletic Director, will it amount to a hill a beans this time?

Also FAMU basketball lost in Arkansas and hopes to bounce back against Valley while the track team continues to be hitting its stride.

So FAMU had a meeting to tell us we were getting a…Search Committee!

This smells of a setup, but after this meeting and others who’s being setup?

Draining as the football coaching fiasco has been the talk of many but at the same time other sports are playing and should get some attention.

But the Women’s Basketball program got its first win in the SWAC of the Gordon era. The Men’s team are what they are and the Track team did some things that will garner attention.

The Question of how did we get to this point has been asked and it appears that multiple groups have played themselves to create a mess which has Rattler Nation reeling and spinning its wheels.

So how does it seem like each person has played themselves and what can be done to fix the problem.

In times of confusion or frustration we are often told to trust the process but that is the challenge of being a FAMU fan.

Far too often the process is convoluted and renders less than favorable results.

Also speaking of trusting the process, FAMUans made the trip to Daytona to see the results we feared and some hoped for.
