Fangs Up

The FAMU Men’s Basketball team is giving hope to those who follow the program while the softball team fought hard to make the SWAC tournament, only to lose in the first Round.

The Lady Rattlers had to travel to Alabama to earn a spot in the SWAC tournament.

Also with graduation exercises looming FAMU tennis went to Athens, Georgia to play against the Bulldogs.

Also FAMU baseball loses another series in baseball.

All that being said FAMU was recognized in the State Capitol for what it's victories and I think this is a great chance to celebrate those things.

Also let us look at the other reason why the fan experience is different than it was 20+ years ago.

Graduation also opens opportunities for transition and to transfer ones skills to a new place.

FAMU Softball is on the brink of closing out its season if the team does not get a win in Alabama and one of the best players on the team has hit the portal.

Also when we are hearing that HBCU should go FBS is that truly the solution and why did it fail at FAMU the first time around?

After another disappointing NFL Draft which saw only one HBCU player get drafted. While we did see two FAMU players sign on with NFL teams the question has to be asked if FAMU can get players drafted.

This being said FAMU Baseball & Softball drop a series each while we prepare for post season play.

An frustrating weekend to say the least ends with FAMU bringing a native sun back from the World's Most Famous Beach.

The FAMU Tennis team just brought home it's second SWAC championship of the season and a moral boosting defeat over JSU for those keeping track.

Also FAMU baseball got a sweep of Mississippi Valley while the Softball team lost the weekend series to BCU.

We also saw the FAMU ladies make some noise on the track while the football team brought in another position of need in the form of a Kicker from Stetson.

Much to do about FAMU as we prepare for the end of the athletic season.

The Transfer portal opened on Saturday and the Transfer portal has been really good to FAMU, especially on the lines of scrimmage.

While this is taking place FAMU Golf fought hard at the SWAC championships but the FAMU Men's teams can't seem to get away from the Number Two.

Also FAMU softball prepares to travel to Daytona to Face BCU & FAMU Tennis hopes to make things look easy in New Orleans as the #1 seed at the SWAC Championships.

The Sun was definitely out on Saturday but we also saw tons of recruits visit the Highest of Seven Hills.

For what it was the Spring game went as we would have expected with the Defense dominating the day.

Beyond having to contend with a fierce defense we saw one or two players separate themselves from the pack.

Additionally the FAMU Softball game provided a great experience while Baseball was in the Hills of Alabama walking the dawgs.

Now what were the key takeaways and how can we improve the Orange & Green Game Experience?

FAMU is not far from the Gulf Coast as what we saw at the end of last football season brought back memories of the high flying Gulf Coast Offense.

Going into the Spring Game I'm wondering if some of what we saw as fan will translate to this spring and the season.

Additionally, we are about to see the Baseball & Softball teams work to improve in the conference.

Lastly we have another SWAC Championship on the Hill!

The recent success of Gymnastics at Fisk & hockey interest at some HBCU's has some wondering if HBCUs should include the sport ?

Tallahassee definitely has a market for Hockey but some major things have to happen for this to come to fruition.

Additionally FAMU Baseball won a baseball series against Jackson State, Softball has to postpone the series and Golf is about to get like the Tennis team.

Considering the what we are hearing from FAMU Football, what we saw from FAMU Basketball & what we are seeing from FAMU baseball & SoftBall.

The question has to be asked, is good defense really be enough to win?
