Fanning the Flames

We here at Into the Valley believe that basketball is good... even when it doesn't involve the Phoenix Suns. In this episode we set out to answer the question: "When you're not watching the Suns, who ARE you watching?"

In this episode, we do our best to share with you who you should be watching on League Pass in this upcoming season. And if you don't have League Pass, why not?! Become a card carrying League Pass member and starting watching more hoops! (Or you can stick to your sketchy Reddit streams... we understand).

On this week's episode of Fanning the Flames, Sam Good (@samgood) joins Dan and Justin to celebrate Devin Booker's Supermax Extension and heap praise on the man who will someday be the face of this city.

From there, the guys discuss where the Phoenix Suns offseason has gone over the last week and where it is going in the coming weeks, diving into:

What happens if Deandre Ayton gets an offer sheet and signs it?

Are we concerned about that actually happening?

Thoughts on the other moves the Suns have made.

Tune in for this, and more, on this episode of Fanning the Flames.

Last week on Fanning the Flames, we discussed the possibility of Kevin Durant being traded to the Phoenix Suns this offseason. When news broke that Kyrie Irving was opting in to his contract, many believed KD was no longer an option. The Podcast of Optimism, of course, did not... and now the possibility of Durant joining Devin Booker and Chris Paul in Phoenix is looking more like a future reality.

So, again, it's all things KD this week on Fanning the Flames, as we discuss:

The odds of this trade happening.

What it might cost the Suns.

Whether we have any concerns over KD based on his history.

Remember, Suns fans, patience is a virtue.

We are thriving and surviving during this NBA offseason.

Today we attempt to answer one question: Is Devin Booker a Top 10 player in today's NBA? And depending on your answer, what does that mean about the future of the Phoenix Suns?

It feels like it has been a long and acrimonious offseason already... and we have not even made it to the NBA Draft.

But what does the near future look like for the Phoenix Suns?

We delve into that in a new episode of Fanning the Flames. Topics this week include:

Are the Suns are going to get back into the Draft?

Could Kevin Durant be on his way to the Suns this offseason?

Does the Jerami Grant trade mean anything for Deandre Ayton's future (and perhaps KD's, too)?

As everyone knows, there has been an ongoing investigation into Robert Sarver and the Phoenix Suns arising out of allegations of misogyny and racism in the workplace. Another piece to that puzzle seemingly came out yesterday when ESPN released a report about a former employee's recent resignation email, in which she further described the "toxic and misogynistic workplace culture."

What does this new report mean to the ongoing investigation and Robert Sarver's future as the owner of the Suns? Our resident lawyer gives his thoughts, as do Dan and our guest this week, Sam Good (@samgood).

In addition to discussing the NBA's investigation, we also discuss why allowing Deandre Ayton to leave - regardless of how - will be a huge mistake by the Suns.

That, and more, on this episode of Fanning the Flames.
