Joe is joined by Karam and new regular Scoutcast host Seb to try to make sense of the fixture changes to impact on Gameweek 18.

Content creators are having a tough time of late. As soon as a video or podcast is painstakingly researched and presented, a major announcement changes everything. Lately, that has been due to Covid-19, with players forced to isolate and games postponed.

This time around the Scoutcast has escaped such changes by scheduling its latest episode last night (Monday January 11th), just hours after it emerged that Tottenham’s game with Aston Villa on Wednesday has been put back due to Covid-19 concerns.

Instead, Jose Mourinho’s troops will take on Fulham in a hastily rearranged game that falls far more kindly in the Gameweek for owners of Spurs stars Harry Kane (£11.0) and Heung-Min Son (£9.8).

Understandably, this important fixture change tops the bill in a show that marks the debut for Seb as the Scoutcast’s new regular co-host with Joe.

Also joining this week is Karam, who has had his own experience with coronavirus recently. He reveals how he was been isolating after a positive test and thankfully is now fighting fit to once again tackle this most irregular of seasons.

Our trio reveal their Gameweek 18 plans and the players they are targeting. Joe has already pressed the button on his Free Hit chip but Karam only needs one or two transfers to field a credible side. Meanwhile, Seb is Free Hit-curious, and undecided on whether to deploy this chip.

Differentials during this limited set of fixtures are also taken in. Are Wolves and Everton players being unfairly neglected?

Elsewhere, Arsenal’s low owned gems are scrutinised and long-term fixtures are frisked in a show that aims to ensure FPL managers are well prepared for today’s Gameweek 18 deadline.

The Scoutcast will return on Thursday night, when Joe, Seb and their guest will dust off their notes once again and focus on the coming weekend’s Double Gameweek 19.

Joe is joined by FPL Family’s Sam and Ted Talks FPL’s Ted to look ahead to Gameweek 14 and the impending New Year blank and double Gameweek fixtures.

Fantasy Premier League managers already have plenty to consider with fixtures arriving thick and fast during this busy festive period in the season.

And now they have blank and double Gameweeks to ponder, after the Premier League announced details this week of a limited set of fixtures in Gameweek 18 and a bumper crop of extra games in Gameweek 19.

How FPL managers tackle this tricky period in the season largely depends on their current set up and chip availability.

Joe, Sam and Ted look in detail at the different strategies to consider as well as the best players to target.

Ted is building up a reputation for presenting smart FPL related graphics across social media. We grabbed the opportunity to find out more about his latest graphs, which detail the best chance creators and most obliging defences.

In all the excitement over the New Year double Gameweek, our trio present a timely reminder of the single Gameweek sides that cannot be ignored, most notably Tottenham and Manchester City.

Elsewhere, Sam takes her turn to pick a differential, there are festive fixtures to frisk and captaincy and transfer plans to reveal.

The episode was streamed live on Thursday night during Manchester United’s trip to relegation candidates Sheffield United. With Red Devils star Bruno Fernandes (£11m) captained by Sam and Joe, viewers get to see their live reaction to the midfielder’s pivotal performance during a low scoring Gameweek 13.

Joe and Az are joined by former Fantasy Premier League champion Simon March to assess the key developments of the week.

A last gasp penalty by Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah (£12.3m) against Fulham last time out underlined the value of investing in premium priced midfielders in FPL.

But with strong returns from Tottenham’s Harry Kane (£10.9m) and Leicester’s talisman Jamie Vardy (£10.3m) in Gameweek 12, there is a clear case for continuing to plough funds up top.

Joe, Az and Simon assess the merits of forward line investment, including the re-emergence post injury of Southampton marksman Danny Ings (£8.4m).

There are of course value striker picks, in the likes of Patrick Bamford (£6.3m). But how does the Leeds man compare in consistency of returns.

The pressing need of cheap enablers elsewhere has never been so crucial amid strong returns from expensive assets. Our trio look at the best budget buys, particularly in defence, with an eye on strengthening benches as Christmas rotation draws near.

Liverpool midfielder Diogo Jota (£6.9m) had been among useful picks for managers looking to save money. But with an injury sidelining him for a number of weeks, the Scoutcasters look at likely replacements, for a similar or cheaper price tag.

Meanwhile, this latest episode finds time for all the usual features, with last Gameweek’s highs and lows reviewed, rough with the smooths aired and next four fixtures frisked.
