  • 160 - Leave Austin Dillon and the Silver Spoons Alone
Download Podcast - 160 - Leave Austin Dillon and the Silver Spoons alone This one pains me, but we’ve got to leave Austin Dillon alone. He’s rich, privileged, and lacks talent, but we’re worse because We’re resentful. Why do you work? To take care of your family. To give your son or daughter a better life. That’s what Richard Childress did. What Dillon has is what you want for your own. His luck is his families sacrifice. NASCAR is nepotistic. It always has been. Jr had Sr who had Ralph. Dale Sr wasnt born into a wealthy family, but he was born into a racing family. He was given the opportunity to work on and race cars at a young age. The King had Lee. Davey had Bobby. Chase has Bill. We lie to ourselves about what’s important. We don’t really care about Horatio Alger sports stories. If we did, then we would be soccer fans. Everyday, third world children lift themselves and their families out of abject poverty by practicing soccer, but we don’t really care about pulling yourself up by your bootstraps. We only attach meritocracy when it supports the drivers that we like. There isn’t a scenario where these kids weren’t going to end up race car drivers. Robert Plomin’s research reveals that genes play a bigger role in our lives than previous thought. This does not mean that environment does not play a role. Genes are number 1, nurture number 2; together they’re a hell of cocktail. Basically, the son of a driver is genetically predisposed to be a racer. Then factor in that the child grows up in a racing environment. It’s impossible for some of these silver spoons to not go into racing. If you still want to be mad, then you better start celebrating the children that do not go into racing. These children are brave adventurers throwing privilege to build their own lives, but you don’t care about them do you? Partly because they don’t exist. All of these boys go into racing. If you hate it now, then be prepared to hate the next generation. For good measure, you should purchase CashBowyerSucks.com and OwenLarsonIsABitch.com. Silver spoons are not going away and they are not new. There is a proliferation of undeserving drivers, but there is nothing you can do about it. Basically, you are arguing for rides to be earn in a fair manner through hard work. That doesn’t work in any private avenue of life. How many people have you worked with that are fair, decent, and hard working, but there stuck in the same position? Government protected rights and equality, yes that should be fair for everyone. Private business, no. Discrimination is legal as long as it is not based on race religion or sex. Richard Childress can discriminate on the basis of whether you are his grandkid or not. He could also discriminate based on competence, but that clearly hasn’t happened has it Paul Menard. Let this one go. Leave Austin Dillon alone. To those who have everything, more will be given; from those who have nothing, everything will be taken. Where to listen iTunes Stitcher TuneIn

  • 159 - Fantasy NASCAR Podcast - Plate Track Trends
Download Podcast - 159 - Fantasy NASCAR Podcast - Plate Track Trends You know how this works. At the plate tracks, play drivers in the back. It's not a daily fantasy NASCAR secret. It never was. Maybe one in five plate races are conservative, but the rest are horror shows. Nobodies starting in the back always slide into the optimal lineup at DraftKings. Where to listen iTunes Stitcher TuneIn

  • 156 - NASCAR contract transparency and the Media’s cowardice (part 1)
Download Podcast - 156 - NASCAR contract transparency and the Media’s cowardice (part 1) Hemric, tifft, bubba, preece, Byron, Jones = making peanuts You don't know that…. I don't ...because the media is too scared to cover contracts… But we will get to that in a second I don't know for sure…..but there have been plenty of driver comments that have implied that the kids are taking pay cuts to get cars Adam Stern ...who does a good job with the business end of NASCAR Says….drivers used to make $5-10 million And new drivers make $500,000 Those are estimates...they’re helpful…. But heaven forbid we know the actual number Kirk Cousins can’t hide his $28 million contract ...no one feels sorry for the bums lack of privacy With the money go buy privacy...pay a company to wash google of the records Just don't pepper spray some SJWs Kenseth was replaced by a cheaper option - Erik Jones NASCAR doesn’t have a WAR stat (win above replacement) But why overpay for Kenseth...how much more do you get….we can answer that Kenseth 2017 - avg fin = 14th Jones in the #20 car in 2018…..   avg fin = 14th Kasey Kahne 2017: 19th 2018 - William Byron = 22nd …(average running position was 19th) Ryan Newman - hit the bricks Avg finish 17th last year I don’t think Hemric will match that in an RCR car Newman gets more out of the cars than anyone ...but….is that a reason to overpay…..no probably not It’s hard to really analyze the drivers…..because we do not know the contract specifics Why don’t we know the salaries???!. .,...it’s rude to ask....it’s none of our business The NASCAR media is always trying to be to friendly contract secrecy benefits the bosses…. and the owners of the means of production They play workers off each other.... if everyone knows that they are getting screwed then they can demand changes Thats how Kurt Flood and the MLB players changed sports Maybe that doesn’t apply here.... NASCAR drivers comparing salaries and demanding fair contracts is comparable to  asking Kmart for a raise... good luck with that Either way Every pro sport release salaries .... the nascar media needs to stop being friends and ask the tough questions… But they might pull my media credentials There it is.... it always comes back to that.... nascar hangs this over the media’s head ...and controls them.... fans are forever stuck with vanilla content and human interest pieces by Jeff Gluck (which are good, if you like that sort of thing). ....NASCAR has done this for years....  now fans don’t even bother reading the garbage Fans would rather read what other fans write on reddit or social media….it might be crazy with a dash of conspiracy….but it’s honest The traditional nascar media is closing down Nascar magazines - have been dead for years Newspaper coverage is gone ...what is a newspaper? Fox sports....the owner of half of the race broadcasts - fired their NASCAR writers, the internal organization whose sole purpose was to drive traffic to the broadcasts ...they got fired Did you ever read the post practice articles on Fox Sports? Tom Jensen…. A beloved NASCAR writer…. Took the practice speed pdf distributed by nascar…..and turned it into an article. Google “Monster Energy Practice 1 results from Sonoma Raceway” Let’s read together: Truex drove the No. 78 Furniture Row Racing Toyota to P1 on the board by posting a fast lap  of 94.587 miles per hour late in the session. That knocked off Denny Hamlin, who wound up second at the 1.99-mile road course with a lap of 94.068 mph in the No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota. Third on the speed charts Friday was the No. 17 Roush Fenway Racing Ford of Ricky Stenhouse Jr., who had a best lap of 93.684 mph. Clint Bowyer, the 2012 Sonoma winner, was fourth in the No. 14 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford, followed by Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet. You know they didn’t pay to sen that guy to california… he wrote that at home by looking a speed chart I know that people were sad that T

  • 154 - Is Matt Tifft good?
Download Podcast - 154 - Is Matt Tifft good? The answer is no. This isn't even close. Tifft is the new model of NASCAR driver. He's a scab. Team owners pay him much less than veteran superstars, and Tifft either brings with him family money or sponsors. Tifft got started with KBM, a well documented pay-to-play organization.
