Nl: Het was een koude winteravond in Amsterdam.
En: It was a cold winter evening in Amsterdam.

Nl: De straten waren stil, bedekt met zachte sneeuw, en alleen de lichten van de kerstversiering gaven wat warmte.
En: The streets were quiet, covered with soft snow, and only the lights of the Christmas decorations provided some warmth.

Nl: Bram, Femke en Tijn stapten snel door de deuren van het drukke Centraal Station.
En: Bram, Femke, and Tijn quickly stepped through the doors of the busy Centraal Station.

Nl: De klokken tikten onverbiddelijk terwijl de sfeer van hun afscheidsfeestje nog om hen heen hing.
En: The clocks ticked relentlessly while the atmosphere of their farewell party still lingered around them.

Nl: "Kom op, we moeten snel zijn," zei Femke, haar adem condenseerde in de koude lucht.

Nl: Tijn zuchtte, keek Bram recht in de ogen, en zei dan: "Bram, ik ga misschien weg, maar jullie blijven mijn thuis.
En: Tijn sighed, looked Bram straight in the eyes, and then said, "Bram, I may be leaving, but you all remain my home.

Nl: We houden contact, echt waar."
En: We'll keep in touch, really."

Nl: Bram voelde de druk in zijn borst verdwijnen.
En: Bram felt the pressure in his chest disappear.

Nl: Hij knikte langzaam, inhaleerde de warme lucht doorspekt met kerstkruiden, en glimlachte tenslotte.
En: He nodded slowly, inhaled the warm air spiced with Christmas scents, and finally smiled.

Nl: Tijns woorden hadden een deuropening naar begrip gecreëerd.
En: Tijn's words had opened a door to understanding.

Nl: Met hun trein op het punt te vertrekken, stapten ze in, het einde van een hoofdstuk, maar ook het begin van een nieuw.
En: With their train about to depart, they stepped inside, the end of a chapter, but also the beginning of a new one.

En: The train slowly pulled out of Amsterdam Centraal station.

Nl: De lichten aan de kerstboom voor het raam dansten zachtjes in de duisternis van de nacht.
En: The lights on the Christmas tree outside the window danced gently in the darkness of the night.

Nl: Bram begreep nu dat vriendschap ruimte geeft om eerlijk te zijn.
En: Bram now understood that friendship provides the space to be honest.

Nl: En daarin ligt een comfort dat verder reikt dan welke reis dan ook.
En: And in that lies a comfort that reaches further than any journey.
