Instead of discarding concepts like evil or the devil, the West has reconstituted a secular version in the person of Adolf Hitler and the ideology of fascism. One does not debate the devil, one slays the devil, and the same is true of the fascist. This is why the Left is now calling basic conservative ideas fascist, because leftists are laying out the justification for political violence.
