Fashion On The Beat

This episode features a delightful chat with African-American linguist Jourden Lloyd. This is part of an academic project I’ve got the chance to work on for one of my Civic Engagement classes, with prof. Andrea R. Efthymiou. Jourden and I got the chance to explore how English as a language is able to represent diversity among its native speakers. I chose my podcast as part of this multimedia project because as a fashion writer and freelance journalist involved in social justice, I firmly believe that words have power and significance, either when they are written or used in conversations.
