  • Targeting Millennial Customers
Most younger audiences don’t like being targeted by brands on social media. They want to feel a connection, build trust slowly, and see the value of engaging. With social media, brands can connect with prospects and customers, listen to what’s going on, and see what’s trending. In fact, if you talk ‘at’ your customer, in particular millennials, you’ll lose them and won’t get them back.

It’s our job as marketers to learn every target market’s style.

Let’s keep talking about millennials. Some experts say that early millennials, those born between 1980 and 1987, want autonomy to make decisions for themselves– choosing hours that they work, owning their own company – where recessional millennials (those born between 1980 and 1987) want financial stability, to pay off debt and save.

If this is true, how will you change up your marketing? Listen more? One thing for sure is that you have to deliver what you promise. In a nutshell — get real or they will get lost.

  • Best Times to Post on Social Media
If you’re not familiar with best times to post on social media, there are tons of tools that can guide you. Auto-schedulers like Hootsuite or Buffer are good reference sites, and you can research even deeper depending on your particular audience. Test out what’s been working for you too. Even if you’re an expert, there’s always room for improvement.

You also want to post often enough for your audience to see. When you build a brand, you need great content, consistency, plus frequency. Without all three, you’ll lose a good percentage of your potential followers.

Depending on the platform, post a minimum of 3 – 10 times a week on each channel. That’s a wild card answer in a way, because it really depends on your business, but if you post on five platforms and feel stretched, you probably won’t keep up the pace. Choose two or three that you enjoy, and go for it. For some industries, LinkedIn and Facebook are best, but for others, Instagram is the rage. Do your homework and hit up Google for stats (and ideas).

  • 3 Rules of the Road for Customer Service on Social Media
You can’t know everything about everything, and that includes social media, no matter what your age or industry.

Follow these 3 Rules of the Road for Customer Service on Social Media wo you’ll never go wrong:

    Respond Quickly

Pay attention to customer comments, especially if there’s a complaint. Best responses times are usually 30 minutes or less in industries like high-tech, telecom and financial services. Customers, in general, have high expectations and are fickle, especially if they feel like they’re not being heard.

    Ask Your Team for Help

Customers want to know the answers to their questions and problems ASAP, so don’t think you have to know it all. Ask your team for help because you can’t be an expert at everything, nor should you be. Once you make a connection outside your department, circle back to make sure the issue is resolved in a positive way.

    Spread Good News (and Love)

Have happy customers? Don’t keep it a secret. Share those conversations, not just on social media, but internally too. Everyone likes to hear good news, and if you had a hand in the satisfaction process, that’s great feedback. This isn’t about “tooting your own horn,” it’s a collaborative effort to give a high-five to the team who was involved.

  • Why it’s important to keep track of your online listings
If you want better organic SEO, make sure you’re getting your local business NAP – name, address, and phone number on directories, online business listing sites and citation sites – anywhere online where your NAP—name, address and phone number are mentioned.

To see if you’re getting any results, provide a tracking link on each directory to see how much traffic is coming in. Be sure that you have a detailed description of your business – and if possible, a video, so customers get a sense of who you are and what you do.

I’ll start you off with a list of 5 popular directories – besides Google My Business. (BOTW) Best of the Web, AboutUs, Spoke.com, Bing Places,  and Yahoo.                               ,

  • Fast Effective SEO Tips to Grow Your Business
Hi, it’s Robin Samora with the Fast Marketing Minute.  Glad that you joined me here today! I’m your marketing and PR expert on Alexa, and here to help you grow your business and brand.
Want a handful of SEO tips to get more business and a higher Google ranking?
First, understand that SEO is a process, not an overnight magic trick. And, that’s true whether you hire out or DIY. Look at your Google Analytics and set a goal for what you’d like to accomplish. Test and track to see what’s working. Then tweak accordingly.
This might be a no-brainer, but use keywords on your title tags and get them right. Title tags are keyword rich and usually have between 50 – 60 characters. Be sure they’re also in the headers, body and image alt-tags too.
Take advantage of Word Press plugins like Yoast SEO. Once you focus on keywords and start writing, Yoast will grade you – from red to yellow to green when you’re hitting the mark. The more you write the better you’ll get.
Post videos and transcripts on your website. Videos keep visitors on your page longer (and Google likes that). As an added bonus, provide a transcript of the video with medium and long-tail keywords to build SEO and drive traffic.

  • Three Social PR Tips to Live By
Let’s talk about Social PR – the way you position yourself online. Here are a few tips:

    1. Become a credible resource.

You have one brand to protect and cherish, and that’s your own. Being trustworthy and providing valuable information, isn’t just a good thing to do, it’s good business. Get out of the WIFM mindset and shift to WIFT (what’s in it for them). Answer questions. Be of service.

    2. Don’t underestimate your value.

Sometimes you recognize your value because it’s been drilled into your head. But others might question their value because of past stories you were told and believed (which by the way, aren’t true). As an expert, you’ve earned value because you provide the value.

    3. It’s all about creating a strong personal platform.

Your platform is as strong as your personal connections online and offline. In real life you have prospects, customers, colleagues, competitors, networking groups, Meetups, referral partners and the list goes on.  Then there’s LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube to name a few.

A personal platform is as strong as you’re willing to make it.  Put the effort in to make your foundation solid.

  • What Are You Doing to Build Your Like, Know and Trust?
Did you know that more people in the world own mobile phones than toothbrushes? That’s kind of scary right? Lots of bad breath, but think of it from the perspective of a marketer. First, it’s a huge global audience! People are almost always on their cell phones, scrolling, and on social media. That’s a crazy marketing opportunity, for a world that wants to buy, and buy now.

But, here’s the problem. Everyone is not your target audience. The smaller and more targeted your audience is, the better. Customers have to like, know and trust you – and believe in you before they pay attention – and way before they buy.

What are you doing today to build your like, know and trust factor? Here’s an idea. How about helping 3 people today for free, without expecting anything in return? In fact, do that for 14 days and see what happens. There’ll be 42 happy people and lots of good karma that’s coming right back at you.

  • How to Optimize Website Forms to Get the Best Conversions
Today we’re talking about optimizing website forms to get the best conversions.

    Here are some tips:

Push the value – what do viewers get when they give you their information? Make sure the value is clear and the offer is worthwhile

Keep it above the fold - As soon as someone lands on your page, they should see your form, no scrolling or searching for it

Keep it simple - Don’t ask for someone’s full address and phone number and horoscope sign! You get the idea. Filling out a form takes time and consumers are already leery about giving out their information

Make your button enticing. Think about it. If someone is on the fence about giving their information, “LOSE 10 POUNDS IN 15 DAYS” is way more exciting than “Submit.” Right?

And lastly, think mobile. Mobile traffic accounts for half of web traffic worldwide. Your website should already be optimized for mobile devices, but make sure your forms are too.

  • When’s a Good time to Rebrand?
Today we’re talking about rebranding. I just did it and it’s a process.

Usually, If you feel uninspired about how your business looks and feels, or you’re lightyears ahead of your current website, it may be time for a change.

A new brand and energy can revitalize your business, drive sales, and give you a renewed excitement about your work. So, when’s a good time to rebrand?

Your look is dated, dry, and flat. It doesn’t excite you anymore.

Your brand doesn’t represent your business and what you’re working on.

You’ve expanded beyond your business’s original purpose

You want to attract new clients, your demographic has changed, and trends are shifting.

Or, there could be some bad press that you want to get away from.

Rebranding isn’t a one size fits all. Think about why you want to rebrand, before you jump in.

  • 5 Types of Content to Drive Website Traffic
Today we’re going to talk about Driving Traffic to Your Website with Content.

Here are 5 great examples of content; Blogs, White papers, Videos, Webinars and Infographics.

Blogging establishes you as an expert, keeps you current, and creates tons of searchable content for people to find you online.

White papers are blogs on steroids. A white paper could be a comprehensive how-to guide, a product comparison, a video white paper or slide show.

Video SuperCoolCreative.com says that “53% watch online videos to be entertained and inspired. 28% watch online videos to relax or escape. And, 21% watch online videos to learn something new.” You probably know that 1 billion hours of video are watched every day on YouTube.

And lastly, infographics. They’re images chock full of information. They tend to be more compelling than text and super shareable on social media. You can DIY with sites like Canva, Get Stencil, Snappa or hire designers on Upwork if you’re not a budding artist, (I’m not).
