University of Colorado Boulder BANS Student Gatherings For 18 22 Year Olds  

There have been 1,391 positive COVID-19 cases recorded on the University of Colorado campus.  On Thursday, Boulder County Public Health issued a new Public Health Order ordering people between 18 and 22 to stop all gatherings in Boulder. 

It’s aimed at the CU student body, and intended to lower the transmission rate of the COVID-19 virus. The order takes effect at 4 p.m. Thursday and is in effect for 14 days.

Vietnam Confiscates Over 300,000 Recycled Condoms for Sale  

A raid at a warehouse led to the arrest of a woman who said she had been paid by the pound to recycle the prophylactics. 

HANOI, Vietnam — The police in Vietnam have seized more than 300,000 used condoms that had been boiled, dried and put up for sale in a southern province.  Officers who raided a warehouse in the province of Binh Duong on Saturday found the recycled condoms in bags weighing almost 800 pounds, the state-controlled Tuoi Tre newspaper reported.

MASKLESS WOMAN TASED AND ARRESTED AT FOOTBALL GAME  

A police officer arrested a woman who refused to wear a mask at a middle school football game, according to the Logan Police Department in Ohio. The woman continued to refuse wearing one even after she was told she was violating school policy and would have to leave. The officer ultimately used his taser on her shoulder, and she was charged with criminal trespassing and released at the scene.

BRAIN EATING AMOEBA IN THE HOUSTON TEXAS AREA WATER SYSTEM  

LAKE JACKSON, Texas (KTRK) -- A 'Do-Not-Use' water advisory sent to thousands of customers late Friday night has been narrowed to the city of Lake Jackson over concerns about the presence of a brain-eating amoeba in the water supply.  

The amoeba, known as naegleria fowleri, prompted the advisory Friday, which initially impacted customers of the Brazosport Water Authority. TCEQ later said that Brazosport's water was safe.  

The advisory continued for Lake Jackson residents and means they should not use water for anything but flushing toilets, including drinking, bathing or cooking.

NYC Eyes New Shutdowns Over COVID Clusters  

For the first time in months, New York City may have to roll back reopening in certain neighborhoods to contain growing clusters; its top doctor warned Friday, 

"This may be the most precarious moment that we're facing since we have emerged from lockdown".  The clusters have seen such alarming growth in the past week -- and again over the past few days -- that the health department says reopening rollbacks may be implemented for the first time in the city's recovery period if progress is not made. It set a Monday deadline for that. 

 "The immediate scaling back of activities" would apply only to the affected ZIP codes, not citywide, the health department said Thursday evening -- and could include bans of gatherings of 10 or more people, mask fines, private school and child care center closures and shuttering all non-essential businesses again.

DR  OZ SAYS AMERICA NEEDS MORE BLACK DOCTORS  

Dr. Oz said that in the medical field, research has proven there is an implicit bias against the Black community perpetuated by White doctors. This bias leads to unnecessary surgeries and even premature deaths.  

 When it comes to health and wellness, Dr. Oz said research now shows that African-American patients do better under the care of an African-American physician as opposed to a White physician.   

For this reason, Dr. Oz is promoting the #MoreBlackDoctors campaign to help close the gap in health care disparities.
