Instead of talking about how to pray or ways to pray today’s homily takes a different route. Today we look at three issues that stop us from praying at all. These are the metaphorical check engine lights of our soul that tell us something is missing or wrong. Fortunately for us these are also three areas that can always be improved. A homily from a unique location, Aggie Awakening 110! You should expect this one to be a bit more bombastic, loud, and to hear lots of whoops for Jesus. Why? Because I’m giving a homily all about being convicted for Christ in front of nearly 370 college students on fire for the Lord. Things were a little full of the Holy Spirit.

 

I honestly didn’t know where this homily would end up, how it would start, or how it’d all come together. This weekend’s homily is all about respect and what you hear is more Holy Spirit than me. I hope that it enliven’s your prayer, prompts growth, and adds fervor to your devotional life.

It’s called the three minute witness. Its time we learn how to talk about Christ in a way that works.

But please… don’t be creepy. Don’t be that guy.

 

Sharing the Gospel is about sharing who we have encountered. It means being apostolic, evangelical, and vocational so that the world might know what we have in our hearts.

 

Moving from theory into practice in the most brave and painful of ways. The invitation is there but will we respond?

 

The call to be a disciple means growing up, maturity, but mostly virtue. The call of Christ is high and noble. Here at 3 ways that we’re called to reach for more than what we currently are.

 

Being better, loving more, and following Christ can seem a tall order, if not impossible. But a life with Christ, of being His disciple, is possible and its practical. In this weeks homily we continue a discussion on discipleship and how we can being to live abundantly.
