The first in a homily series on discipleship. Focusing on relationship and encounter as the foundation of discipleship, this homily seeks to explore the basic question about what it means for us to be connected to each other and Christ, and the ways in which Christ will use plot twists to connect our heart to His.

 

The recent events across our nation are unsettling. In this Sunday’s homily I attempt to gently talk about tough topics like bigotry, hatred, and racism.

Fair Warning: Some might consider the content of this homily to be heavy. Before listening I suggest being in a good space emotionally.

 

 

Sometimes we’re bold like Peter… but other times we’re a chicken heart-ed like Peter. Bold in our requests and frozen in our fears. In this past Sunday’s homily Christ shows us that he’s able to conquer our fears, ready to do so, and deeply willing to effect a change.

But its not what we expect…

 

 

If there are two things I want you to hear and know from this homily its this.

* The trinity is not a mystery because its unknowable. Its a mystery because it is infinitely knowable.

* We are called to engage that mystery, not dismiss it. The trinity is the ultimate adventure and our ultimate destination.

Listen in and I pray that this homily leaves you “unsatisfied.”

 

 

You can not move forward without first settling the past.

In today’s homily we examine the great commission of Christ and what can keep us from fulfilling that commission.

 

This Sunday I take some time and talk about how we can cut through all the noise and distortions of the world to hear the voice of God in our lives.

 

Its that time of year when we need to dig deep, find something within, and go for broke. Its the end of the academic year and, if you’re me, you need a little encouraging. Today’s Gospel is perfect for us. Listen in!

 

Let Christ come to you and offer his peace.. put it into his side.
