You have a parent wound. Because no parent has ever loved perfectly. This leaves us feeling like orphans. Leaves us wondering if we really are loved, if we really do belong. And only the Father, our Abba, our Daddy can heal us. Lead pastor, President of College of Prayer International and author of Just Say Father, Fred Hartley shares his healing journey into the bottomless ocean of Abba’s love.
First, when Fred was a boy he had this unceasing longing to know God intimately, but no one in his church knew God that way. Then, for most of his life Fred saw himself as a pastor, an author, the founder of a missionary movement until Abba reduced him to the bare essential of his identity: Beloved.
Next, Fred’s friend rushed to his three girls who were drowning in a riptide. His friend saved all his girls, but lost his life. This is what Abba has done for us. Then, we need more than a doctrinal understanding of the crucifixion, we need an encounter with the love of God. Last, Father is the shallow entry point into the ocean of God’s love but it becomes the Mariana Trench, a place so deep that we’ll spend eternity plumbing the depths!
