  • Jon | Lingering Affects of Child Abuse 2 of 4
Call two links back to Episode One

A while back I had posted a green screen fb live which talked about child abuse.  The article and information had been presented by a friend of mine who was incarcerated due to the fact that he stuck his wife in the middle of a mediation meeting.  This had been the one and only time during their relationship that he had struck out.   He realizes the severity of his actions and blames no one but himself.  He acted though in my mind the way anyone who had been abused severely as a child may, who wanted nothing more than to create a family that was not broken and distraught and filled with violence itself.  He lost control for one moment, fell back into a place he had tried to run from his entire adult life.  While nothing condones his behavior or actions, I can personally believe 100% that none of it turns out this way had he not been abused as a child.  At any rate, he is serving his time.  He has been in for four years now and will with any luck be on parole shortly.  The following four episodes will be the ongoing conversation he and I had this past Sunday.
If there is anyone out there who has been through a violent childhood I am certain you will understand.
If there is anyone out there who has been through violence as a child, abused as a child and has not broken the cycle – you still have time.
If you have broken the cycle, please speak out about ways that you have and perhaps it will help others.
If there is anyone throughout the course of this podcast that wants to reach out to Jon, please email me [email protected] and I will print the letter out and mail it on.

  • Abuse Serial Set Up

This is the FB live where I set up the coming story of my good friend Jon, who was physically, psychologically & verbally as a child by his mother, well into adolescence.  Jon is currently incarcerated and has been for the past four years.  His crime was that he lashed out and struck his ex-wife as she told him that she was essentially taking his children away from him.  This came from a place where a man had finally been broken, if only for an instant.  All that he had ever wanted (speaking as a person who was close to him for 20 years and witness to) was to be the father that his was not, and that he did not have..

A little chatter bout raising children, about how sometimes in the moment they make us absolutely nuts, but how we can look back, even just a few days, hours ago and find joy /mirth in what has happened.

  • Jeff Bouwman | Family Finance
I had the extreme pleasure of sitting down with Jeff Bouwman, author of Your Income, Your Life: How Modern Day Families Can Live Happy, Healthy, and Wealthy on Any Income .
First things first, I want thank Jeff for taking his time to share his story with us.  Below you will find my review of his book as well as more information about Jeff:
Jeff has taken the time to write an honest book about life surrounding finances and family. What I love about this book is that he does it without making you feel like you are a jerk. The vast majority of us have all been “there” and it never feels great to tell us what we already know or how we should have done something. Reading this book did not make me feel that way. He tells his story and makes me comfortable to be living my story, except for now I am further armed with knowing that with his additional insight, I am also not alone!

    About Jeff:
a CPA (Certified Public Accountant), financial investor & educator, speaker, and business coach.  Despite my background, I had made a lot of mistakes with money and now I have found a better way.
I am a husband and proud father of three amazing girls who make me feel like I am the richest man on earth. Now it’s time to leave a legacy.
    My Philosophy:
I believe that the only way you can take control over your financial future, is to accept responsibility for it.
The financial industry is not setup to make us as individuals successful over time.  In fact, it is at best a secondary objective for financial company’s and their financial representatives.
On my journey to find wealth, I figured out that in order to win at the game of money, you must at least be playing by the same rules.
I was tired of paying high fees for mediocre performance, and took the initiative to find a better way.  Now I want to help you do the same!
It’s your income, and it’s your life – isn’t it time you started living it on your own terms?
Please be sure to check out

Jeff’s Website which is full of resources to assist you and your family to achieve the financial goals you set!

  • Steve Reiner | Southwest Consulting
I was priveleged enough to host a conversation with Steve Reiner recently and what a great conversation it was. Steve tells us his story of how he came to be a coach, even though he did not have a great mindset to start with. He tells how he gets past that and what coaching means to him. He also discusses fatherhood what that means to him, some of the mistakes that he saw himself making and taking the opportunity to correct those errors with some AMAZING affirmations! Don’t blink on this one or you may miss something that is going to get you through your day!

Want to connect with Steve? Please let him know what an impact he made on your day!

  • Steve Miller Manly Club 2 of 2
    second part:

Had a great conversation with Steve Miller, the founder of the Manly Club! He is a wonderful resource for many things manly, primarily Steve enjoys focusing on self master. However, he let it slip one day about Scanners, here is some info:
“I can never stick to anything.”
“I know I should focus on one thing, but which one?”
“I lose interest in things I thought would interest me forever.”
“I keep going off on another tangent.”
“I get bored as soon as I know how to do something.”
“I can’t stand to do anything twice.”
“I keep changing my mind about what I want to do and end up doing nothing.”
“I work at low-paying jobs because there’s nothing I’m willing to commit to.”
“I won’t choose a career path because it might be the wrong one.”
“I think everyone’s put on this earth to do something; everyone but me, that is.”
“I can’t pay attention unless I’m doing many things at once.”
“I pull away from what I’m doing because I’m afraid I’ll miss something better.”
“I’m too busy, but when I do find time I can’t remember what I wanted to do.”
“I’ll never be an expert in anything. I feel like I’m always in a survey class.”
If you’ve ever said these things to yourself, chances are good that you’re a Scanner, a very special kind of thinker. Unlike those people who seem to find and be satisfied with one area of interest, you’re genetically wired to be interested in many things, and that’s exactly what you’ve been trying to do.
