Next up from FKOF fam @dngnbeats is a heavyweight four-tracker from new producer @subrosedub.

Here's the third inclusion on the release, 'Ghosts', ahead of the rest of the 'Ghostwave' EP dropping in a few weeks. You can bag this via the label's bandcamp via the buy link - 'DNG004' drops 28/03/24...

Shoutout Hitman and the team each and every!

"Dungeon Beats, a Polish record label, is set to release the 'Ghostwave' EP, a diverse album featuring four tracks from debut artist on the scene - Subrose. This material promises to introduce listeners to a fresh take on dubstep, blending a classic approach to the genrewith new ideas.

"The third track on the EP, “Ghosts”, elevates the record with a powerful buildup that leads into a quintessential wobbler, embodying the essence of original dubstep sound. This tune is filled with the melodic grooves constructed out of the impressive synthwork. It’s a mid spectrum range killer – and hard to have enough of.

"All together, the 'Ghostwave' EP is more than just songs; it's a journey through new ideas in bass music. With this first release, Subrose invites us into a world where deep sounds and big feelings come together in a way that's totally absorbing."

FKOF Promo!

It’s been almost twelve months – to the day – since the last FKOF Records release (Roklem & Sebalo’s brilliant FKxF EP in March 2023). As you may know, last year marked the closure of our first decade as an imprint, and we celebrated in true FatKidOnFire fashion, by having most of the year off. Not that we didn’t get anything done – there were two FKOF weddings and a bunch of other awesome activity to focus. With the new year now properly with us, we figured it was high time to get back on the wagon and get the new tunes rolling out the door. So here’s FKOFd060…

FKOFd060 is available via our bandcamp rn, from 22/03/24 onwards. It's then available at Beatport two weeks after, 05/04/24, and on general release two weeks after that, 19/04/24.

‘As ever, we’ve been testing a lot of upcoming FKOF Records material on the monthly FKOF Sessions on Subtle Radio - or the bi-monthly collab show on Radio Buena Vida with Kami-O. The tunes that have become FKOFd060 have featured across both shows for what feels like forever, alongside a whole host of other material from fellow US-based producers. The latest wave (we won’t call it new, it’s been going on for ages) of American dubstep producers are starting to feel like they’re really finding their niche and we’re stoked to bag four tunes (and a FKOF freebie) from Mikrodot, one of the wave’s rising stars.

‘Our 60th digital EP - FKOFd060 – once again beautifully visualised by our resident artiste Lal Yetki, kicks off with ‘Girl from Twin Cities’. It’s a sumptuous, smoky roller; all warm subs and floaty atmospherics. Next up, we’ve the slightly heavier ‘Ember’ – crisp percussive pressure and the wobblier vibes that hark back to Fabriclive.37. Track three, ‘Enlightenment’, strips things back to our beats, bass and space recipe and is a firm FKOF favourite. The final EP inclusion, ‘Repressed’, continues the wobblier themes found earlier in the release with more gunfinger-inspiring vibes. It’s a fitting end to our latest American-made release on FKOF Records. Except it’s not, because we’ve also got a FKOF freebie from Mike to celebrate his debut with us. Some Coki-inspired madness. It bangs!

‘We’re 11 years into our journey as a record label, and we keep finding producers and material that continues to excite us. Our 60th digital release is a rowdy affair, and has been a labour of love between us and the artists (in ever sense) involved. We hope you enjoy it as much as we’ve enjoyed putting it together!’

Brighton/ Bristol dnb imprint @overviewuk have tapped @klinicaldnb for their 82nd EP and it's a bit of a special one - as it's Klinical's debut 140 release. And what a debut it is...

Featuring collabs with Killa P, Spektiv and MYTHM, the 'Violent Castles' EP suggests the producer's got as much potential in 140 as displayed further up the bpm spectrum. We're stoked to premiere 'GxDSWORK' which demos more of the same. Grab this tune and the rest of 'OVR082' via the buy link - release drops this Friday, 15/03/24!

Back at it with @beatricemasters' @baitlabel imprint. Their next release is the label's first various artists extended player and taps five French producers up for material.

Here's @orchidj's inclusion, 'Burning Steppes', and you can grab this on pre-order from Bait's bandcamp by hitting the buy link. The EP drops 05/03/24.

"Bait's first various EP format release 'Baby Steps' is an exploration of steppers: pounding four to the floor kicks, organic percs and an overall 'elephant march' feel. Featuring tracks by five French producers, Strasbourg-based Orchid (half of or+be with Bait founder Beatrice M.), Bruxelles-based Moriiiis J., most-known for his broken-beat project Kuna Maze, as well as Quasar, whose name is well established in the dubstep world with releases on legendary UK labels such as Artikal and Deep Medi to name a couple. Agôn (Few Tips/Trajectoire) & Céline B. (Technorama)'s collaboration opens a door towards the more abstract and contemplative side of bass music with influences such as Shackleton, perfectly closing 'Baby Steps' VEP."
