On June 22, 2023, the Parliament of Canada passed C-47. This law imposes new fees and stricter natural health product market restrictions. The Natural Health Products Protection Association (NHPPA) argues that this will drive many of the smaller and medium-sized producers and retailers (like your local health supplement store) out of business.  

Their products will be gone.

The prices will increase for the products that survive. This is because the producers will have to pass on their increased costs to the consumer.  

At a time when healthcare across our nation is under strain, most Canadians would agree that we need to be going towards having MORE access to health and wellness products, not less.  

Features on this show to discuss is Shawn Buckley, a constitutional lawyer who at one point represented Health Canada but has since become one of the leading litigators against them. He is also a national voice raising awareness on the issue.  

Joining him is David Stephan, son of Tony Stephan, a Canadian health products pioneer. David is also a Canadian food supplement company executive who has direct experience with this issue.

For most Canadians, COVID-19 is in the rearview mirror, but not for the Parliament of Canada. As a matter of fact, legislation is just now starting to catch up.  

In response to the concerns of his constituents, one Member of Parliament is putting forth legislation to help protect the employment and travel of Canadians should we ever face a scenario like COVID-19 again.

According to the Government of Canada’s website, over 98 million vaccine doses have been administrated as of this past spring, with over 55,000 adverse reactions to it.

Some federal employees lost their jobs because they felt uncomfortable taking the vaccine for various reasons.

Others were separated from their friends and loved ones because of the travel mandates, or limited in their ability to travel for work.

This is precisely what MP Dean Allison addresses with his new private member’s bill, C-278. The short title is the Vaccine Mandate Act, and its goal is to prevent the imposition by the federal government of vaccine mandates for employment and travel.  

In this program, we show a clip of Mr. Allison’s speech in Parliament about it, and then he joins us to discuss the bill further.

With the rise of interest rates, inflation, housing and rental prices, home insecurity has become a growing issue in our nation.  

Here are some eye opening stats:

- 235,000 Canadians are homeless today.

- Over 30% of homeless Canadians are First Nations

- Most Canadians using shelters are between the age of 25-49 and 62% of those are male.  

- Toronto has the highest number of homeless Canadians, an estimated 10,000.

- 3,000 children in Canada are homeless.

Governments have put a lot of focus into trying to solve this problem, with over 400 emergency shelters across Canada today. In spite of this, Toronto has released new data that 40 people are turned away from shelters every night due to a lack of beds.  

Our two guests on this program are here to shed some light on this issue and what their organizations are doing about it.  

Marcel LeBrun of 12 Neighbours Incorporated, and his team have built a village of tiny homes in their area to help tackle the issue.  

Peter Duraisami is the CEO of the Scott Mission in downtown Toronto, and is one of Canada’s leading charities in helping the urban poor.

Digital ID… 

What is it? 

Is Canada planning on implementing it?

Have other nations?

How is it going for the citizens in those nations?

Is it necessary in our day?

Is it an infringement on privacy?

These are all really great questions that we dive into on this show.

The reality is that billions of people worldwide already use it in some form. China is generally viewed as the most sophisticated nation when it comes to digital ID integration into society. However, nations from Finland to Israel to Canada are all considering it.

Used well, a digital ID can be convenient and even helpful in gathering statistics that give governments useful information in making better policy decisions. However, it also allows the government a level of immediate access to personal information that many feel uncomfortable with.  

To help us understand more, we are featuring a briefing by Dr. Leslyn Lewis, Member of Parliament from Haldimand-Norfolk. After Dr. Lewis’ segment, Luke Neilson, Education Programs Coordinator from the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms sheds light on how digital ID could affect our Charter rights as Canadians.

Happy Canada Day!

Did you know that every single year in Ottawa, elected officials from various federal parties gather together and pray? It’s called the National Prayer Breakfast (NPB). The purpose of the NPB is to unite leaders in our nation’s capital in order to pray together, build relationally, and walk together in the spirit of Jesus Christ.

The event is an extension of a weekly prayer gathering at Parliament, with MPs and senators from various parties participating regularly.  

Canada was the first nation in the world to establish a National Prayer Breakfast, with Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson addressing it in its inaugural year in 1964.  

This year’s National Prayer Breakfast theme was “A Firm Foundation,” and the lead organizers were MP Richard Bragdon (NB) and MP Damien Kurek (AB).

The event sold out a full month in advance, with 770 Canadians participating (possibly making it the highest-attended NPB in our history).

I had the joy of being there in person with some of our friends and ministry partners.  

I’m very excited to share recorded highlights of the event with you today.

What a difference a decade can make.  

Since 2013, Canada’s federal debt has more than doubled. It is currently more than $1.2 trillion. The average Canadian’s personal share of public debt is just over $50,000 (including federal and provincial portions). Interest on the debt is now one of Canada’s biggest national expenses.  

Who pays for this? Plainly put, every single one of us through taxation and through the reduction of public services.   

In spite of this, the current federal government of Canada continues to rack up aggressive fiscal deficits. This year it is expected to reach $40 billion, almost $10 billion higher than forecasted.  

Here with us today to discuss are two familiar guests, Franco Terrazzano of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation and Doug Sharpe of the National Leadership Briefing and Canada Family Action. We’ll be talking about our economic situation and other national matters such as the Alberta election results and general citizen action opportunities on the immediate horizon for all of us.

There is something to the power of gatherings. All throughout human history they have been used to mark lives, impart ideology and even help set the course of a generation.  

Examples include Woodstock the 1969 gathering which drew 400,000 and became a defining event for a generation, the Promise Keepers' Gatherings of the late nineties whose attendance reached an estimated eight hundred thousand and impacted families worldwide, the Billy Graham events of the forties, fifties and beyond, which saw countless thousands give their lives to Christ — and we could go on.  

There is something electric and transformational that can happen in these types of events. This is why this particular show is so exciting! 

Here with us are three Canadians, representing different organizations, who all have a vision for mass gatherings for the purpose of outreach, prayer, reconciliation, and spiritual renewal in our nation.  

Tyrelle Smith hosted the Come Together event in Saskatoon, SK, attracting thousands the first week of June and seeing (saw) hundreds come to Christ.

Solomon Davis is planning the God Heal Our Land event scheduled for July 1st in Hamilton Ontario at the Tigercats Stadium where the Tiger Cats play.

Art Lucier from the Battle For Canada will also be sharing about their upcoming event, Prepare The Way, in Quebec City.

These conversations are both inspiring and eye-opening.

Canada remains one of the only Western nations that allow legal abortions right up to birth for no medical reason and at taxpayer expense.  

In the late ‘80s, the law that existed at the time was struck down by the Supreme Court. The Court tasked Parliament to bring forward a new law to fill the void left. As of today, no law has successfully been made.  

In the absence of a law, nothing is criminal — even the formation of a fully formed child who is able to survive outside its mother’s body.  

Some say the debate is over, while others say it really never resolved. In the meantime, many Canadians are actively engaged in the pro-life movement in one way or another. 

This topic has come back to the forefront repeatedly, and recently most notably through the overturning of Roe vs Wade in the US, which sent shockwaves throughout the world — Canada included.  

A small group of filmmakers seeking to capture the story and the impact it is having on Canada, have produced a documentary for Canadian audiences. It is called Roe Canada.  

Producers Kevin Dunn of Dunn Media, and Josie Luetke are here with us today to share the progress of the project, the reaction and what they hope to accomplish through it.

Israel has often been at the centre of world events, both spiritually and naturally. Recent days have only accentuated this once again.  

Over the past weeks, Israel has faced much civil unrest over the proposed judicial reforms. They also experienced a fresh onslaught of rocket attacks along their border, and the nuclear threat from Iran has increased.  

In the midst of this timeline, believers from across the world have been in a 21-day fast called the Isaiah 62 Fast. It was initiated by Mike Bickle of the International House of Prayer, and millions participated.  

Rick Ridings joins me to share his insights right from the heart of Jerusalem. 

Rick is the founder of Succat Hallel, a 24/7 prayer room made up of Jewish, Arab, and other Gentile believers who pray day and night overlooking the Temple Mount. He is recognized internationally for his leadership in prayer and is also one of those helping facilitate reconciliation between Arabs and Jews — especially in the younger generation in Israel.

Human Trafficking is one of the most horrific injustices being propagated in the earth today, with an estimated 35 million victims of trafficking every single day.  

The large majority of trafficking incidents were reported in metropolitan areas, with an estimated 90% of victims knowing their abuser.

According to the province of Ontario’s data, the average age of recruitment is 13, and over 70% are under the age of 25.  

This issue affects thousands of Canadians and their loved ones.  

Cathy Peters is one of those who were affected, and has stepped up to the plate to be a voice on the issue. She is now one of the nation’s most passionate and effective anti-trafficking advocates, giving hundreds of presentations on this topic, and presenting to every tier of government to raise awareness and save lives.
