John 2:17 His disciples remember the Scripture speaking of the Messiah

John 2:18 The religious leaders want to see a sign of Jesus’ authority

John 2:19 Jesus tells them of the sign they will see

John 2:20 They do not understand the sign

John 2:21 & 22 We are told the actual sign so we do not misunderstand

John 2:23 Jesus performs various sign that we are not told leading some to believe in Him

John 2:24 & 25 Jesus does not entrust Himself to them because He knows who we are

Today's message we're going to be taking a look at Jesus's first son, now in the Scriptures, a sign has two primary purposes. One to authenticate the person who he says he is who he says. So in this case authenticating that Jesus is the Messiah. The son of God the 2nd is that it authenticates the message of that person and so in this message we're going to take a look at that very first sign that Jesus performs.

John 2:1 & 2 Jesus, His mother and disciples are invited to a wedding

John 2:3 A problem arises – the wine runs out. Jesus’ mother wants Him to intercede

John 2:4 Jesus, in essence, says it’s not My problem

John 2:5 Jesus’ mother tells the servants to do what Jesus tells them to do

John 2:6 & 7 Jesus tells the servants to fill 6 water pots with between 120 – 180 gallons of water

John 2:8 Jesus tells the servants to draw some water out and take it to the head waiter

John 2:9 & 10 The water turned into excellent wine

John 2:11 This sign was the beginning of signs which clearly showed His glory and His disciples beleived

The journey of finding faith is a journey of believing in something said or promised by God. Faith is not an assumption, but a responding response to something God said or promised. Because in the beginning was the word, and the word was God.

Then they received the news that Jesus had risen. He walked on the Earth after his resurrection for about 40 days. Today is a celebration because our sins have been forgiven by the lamb of God.
